After shopping for the needed supplies, the party left Nesme, crossing the wilderness. After a day's ride, where Mistle had told them what she remembered of the dungeon from various tales, they had made it to the Goblintide River, where they made camp and the night passed uneventfully, apart from the distant howling of wolves.

Next morning they headed out, and after half a day they reached Knott's Ferry, where Knotty was pleased to see them as there had been no further bat attacks. He ferried them across the river free of charge and warned the group about the Uthgardt's Sacred Mound. Best to stay clear of that area unless wanting to summon the wrath of the barbarians. Iztar left the group to visit Bazza at Segga's Hall. The rest of the party headed north around the sacred place and could see the Lurkwood treeline in the horizon. Ashe's owl had noticed riders heading south, to a yet unknown purpose.

At nightfall Hayden, being first on watch, heard a crackling noise by the horses. He quickly awoke Milla and Garacaius, and they could see the shape of a bear at the trees. It quickly discovered them, and charged toward the sleepy party members. Mistle's 'Fear' and Garacaius's 'Enfeeblement' proved ineffective. Engaging in battle, Milla and Hayden went into melee. Hayden drew first blood but the Owlbear clawed and bit him and he fell in a single round. Milla was joined by Mistle while Jakob fired his crossbow. The Owlbear screeched and crumbled down upon Hayden as they took it out.

The Owlbear's mate wasn't too keen on the party members and charged as well. After an exchange of blows and magic missile spells, it too finally fell. Milla restored the fallen Hayden, and the party settled down to rest once again. Majikus had slept soundly through the whole thing.

The next morning the sun rose, and 'twas a bright new day for the soon-to-be tombraiders.

400 xps to Jakob, Milla, Mistle, Hayden and Garacaius
