The Big "Personal Fun-Facts" Thread

Inspired by the big 'did you know' thread, I thought I'd start one aimed at interesting fun facts about us personally (since the other thread forbids it). These will follow the same "Did you know..." format. Please...don't lie. That's lame.

I'll start...

Did you know that I met George H. Bush (senior) in a Blockbuster Video?

At the time (2001), I lived only a few blocks away from him. He was preceded by 3 secret service guys. Apparantly, he liked to pick out his own movies rather than have them brought to him. Odd, if you ask me. The former leader of the free world who had the most sophisticated media and information systems the world has ever known at his disposal...doesn't have satellite TV. Go figure.

He also apparantly went to that Blockbuster often enough that he knew all the kids who worked there on a first-name basis. He was looking in the military/action section, believe it or not (I know...big shocker). I introduced myself, shook his hand, said a few things. Nice guy. DAMN TALL in person.

I'll try.

My big personal fun fact is that I've had 3 major concussions, including denting my head ... literally.

Concussion #1 was from falling off a diving board and hitting my head on the concrete side of the pool. Dented my noodle, had to be in the hospital for awhile ... thank God I don't have dame bramage!

Concussion #2 was in a fist fight. I had just taken off my glasses, turned around right into the kids' fist. He didn't knock me over, but broke my nose, gave me a concussion and spilt some blood. Cheap shot if you ask me.

Concussion #3 was on a mission's trip. I was lying on the ground building a deck. The youth leader dropped a 10 foot long 4x4 and it landed on its end right on my nose. It pushed the cartilage up off the tip of my nose a bit, broke it again, and rang my bell a bit. To fix the moved cartilage the doctor took forceps, grabbed the piece and pulled it back in place.

I don't want to turn DR's thread into a "name your gory injury" because that's not his intention. This falls into the "fun-fact" category because ... ummm ... oh yeah .... because I've had so much head trauma with no real signs of dame bramage. (did I already say that?)

 

I tried out for a professional NFL football team. I made it until the last cut down to their regular season roster.

 

I was kicked out of school for dealing pot. It was really unfair though, because I wasn't dealing. I didn't even know anyone knew I had some, then people start coming up to me and asking me for weed. I said no, but someone ratted me out.

Also, going with Mathetais' "name your gory injury"

I've broken 16 bones including arms, fingers, noses, ribs, and ankles. I've broken my arms 4 times and many other bones have been broken more than once.

I don't have any celebrity stories, but if I met Bush, I'm not sure if I could contain myself. (Although the SS guys would probably help a little )

 

I have a third nipple.

No, really - I'm being completely and totally serious. A third nipple. It's about 2-3 inches below and slightly to the left (my left) of my right nipple. It's about 3/4 the size of my regular nips, and is always an interesting conversation piece at parties.

 

I have been caught by the police five(5) times, actually more but this is the only times they had something on me.

lol had one aswell, but got it removed, i know claim the scars from when i took a bullet saving the world from a mad terrorist, but no one seems to belive me

 

Did you know I havea disability where all my joints dislocate? I have to walk on crutches and wear splints which leads to rather rude comments at school

 

I look like Trey Parker.

People swear on their lives that my hair is dyed blonde, but it isn't.

I have a birthmark in the shape of an "M" on my leg.

I don't drink, smoke, take drugs, drive a car, or eat fast food.

I have every single R.E.M. album.

I know at least 7 other people with exactly the same mobile phone as me.

I have extremely sensitive everything. From skin to teeth. Even my eyes are too sensitive for contact lenses.

There are three children in my family, one has blonde hair, one has ginger, and the other has brown.

My favourite food is Beef Chow Mein. (I don't know if I spelled that right.)

About 20 people have complimented me on my most recent picture in the newspaper, but I don't know what it's for and have yet to see it for myself.

I have never broken a bone, but have had five operations.

I have owned nine guinea pigs since 1996.

My best friend wears the same shirt every single day.

Having drunk a 2 litre bottle of Coke, I will experience such a huge sugar rush it equates to being drunk, but will shortly come down with such a headache I will not be able to see.

I am six feet one inch.

My hair is blonde, my eyebrows are black, and my beard is brown.

My eyes are neither blue, green, grey or brown, but could feasibly be called any of them.

As you can probably tell by now, I am something of a mongrel.

 

7 years ago I made a holiday trip through Turkey with a friend.
So, we were somewhere in the wild outback of that country, on the marketplace of a town I dont remember anymore and out of the blue 3 young lads jumped in my path and proclaimed that they knew me. They named the school I went to.

I was too confused hearing someone speak my language to quiz them about details but it seemded that they were pupils there as well - or something like that. Dont know anymore.

Couldnt believe it. Small world we live in, hmm?

 

- There's a very big Polish forum (probably the biggest Polish one) where I'm sort of relationship (and other things sometimes) counsel. With such a reputation that I'm sort of celebrity there and it's quite disturbing at times. They tend to believe I have all answers. This extends to real life as well, but to a lesser extent.

- While my weight is 72 kg (160 lbs) and my height is 195 cm (6'5''), I can literally drink whole night long without putting my cup(s) away, not even when I'm dancing. My last achievement is 3 bottles of wine, several shots of booze with raspberry syrup and tobasco, some beer and a glass of champagne. I was totally sober making sandwiches for my 'disabled' friends. Not to mention the fact that I was the last one standing despite common expectations after I had mixed three kinds of alcohol within the first five minutes of drinking. I can also take 30 cl booze shot by shot or 3 glasses within half an hour.

- Caffeine is part of my circulation. During my prom, I fell asleep right next to the huge loudspeaker giving out some troglodite noise. I was after 13 (thirteen) cups of coffee. After a breakfast in Rome with a friend, the waiter almost fainted when he saw four empty coffee pitchers, three empty milk pitchers and two empty sugar bowls between the two lads talking.

- I can keep sleeping 3/24 for weeks. I can sleep 20 hours in a fortnight, with drinking and dancing over nights and my diet being olives, quark, lean meat and water. Greece AD 2000. My record gaming time is 40 hours and I've spent 35 hours in #sorcerers once.

- When I was 14, I was on a trip from school with my class. A girl claimed the sheets were heavy and so at 10 pm I was helping her with her quilt while she was already in bed when the teacher entered the room. Of course, I got away with it Like with everything and anything Similar events have continued to happen until now and in my former school I have a reputation of not only a popular kid and dandy, but also the biggest womaniser ever in that place, despite the reputation of a complete and irredeemable Catholic goodie two shoes. Neither of those seemed to contradict my widely renowned geekdom (the big brain, called genius, but I'm sure as hell not!) or notorious nerdship (the doomed computer addict). It hasn't changed much at the uni where, of course, every single 2nd year law student (of the 1200) seems to know me My more socially active friends say it's not only law department, and not only the university, but like in every pub, club or social event for relatively young people in this city there's someone or a group who knows stories about me. Strange. Just why? Aha, and they maintain that my charisma is 20. 2E. They generally overrate me by so far that I feel guilty, knowing how in all reality not worthy of all that I am

 

I'm about the only (well we're maybe 3 though) Canadian that didn't like Canadian idol.

People are amazed that I never ever ever study for anything but I get god-like mark in school, People call me then the ¨lucky understudy¨

I manage to get a date with a very nice girl only to find her personaluty was (*%*%&%&()&*%&&?%$ even If I knew her for about 3 years, disturbing isn't?

no offense but that post makes you sound rather strange, but its probably the way ive read it

a fact about me is that every easter for 2 years running i seem to fall of an object beggining with T and hurt a part of my body beggning with N (includes slang words)
2 easters ago i was climbing a Tree when the brach i was standing on snapped and i fell 2m down onto another branch and ended up with a MASSIVE postie (for those who dont know what that is its when ur legs end up on oposite sides of a pillar or think like that and the object goes inbetween your legs hitting a certain part) hence injuring my Nackers (slang used in my area for mens privates) this accident caused me to miss school for a week because i couldnt walk, and miss P.E for 5 weeks
and last easter i had a tragic accident involving a Trampoline, it happened by my friend bouncing me off the side and me landing Neck first on the ground, then rolling over my head in a backwards roll and thus breaking part of a bone in my neck and ended up with a neckbrace on for 1.5 months

 

When I was roughly seven years old I had my finger tip bitten off by my family's pet African Grey Parrot. I had to go to the hospital and I still have the scar. When the doctors were filling out their reports they recorded the injury as a "pirate bite" and to this day that is what my permanent medical records show. ARRR!!!

What? Are trying to tell me that there were Canadians who actually liked that tripe?

 

According to their stats, all my players are smarter, faster, stronger, wiser, tougher, and more charismatic than me.

I feel pathetic. Woe to me, for I am a humble level one Commoner.

Wow, we've already found all three Canadians who don't like Canadian Idol!

My thing, as I've already said about a billion times is that I'm the only person I know who can get scars from chess club.

 

I've been hit by a bus. It was about 2 years ago and I was standing waiting for the school bus. The next thing I knew I was flying through the air and landed about 2 meters away without any broken bones. And what's worse, I still went to school that day.

 

i lived to see the morning sun today.

 

I was standing on a mountain when it was hit by lightning. The bolt missed me by less than 50cm. I've had people claim that if it really was that close, it would have hit me, and that I was imagining it / full of crap. Well, it's rather hard to mistake a giant column of blue-white light blowing a crater away at your feet. It was kinda movie-like. There were about seven of us standing on Mt Warning when it hit. A friend felt it coming (all of his hair briefly stood on end), ran like a madman, grabbed my sister and pulled her down (quite possibly saving her life). We all wondered what the hell he was doing, then BOOM. We all stood there in stunned silence for a few seconds before regaining our wits and running to the nearest lightning shelter. We waited a while before venturing back out. We found two people who had been hit. They were ok. They had been hauling themselves up a chain on the last leg of the climb when a bolt (possibly not the same one that nearly got us) hit one of the posts. They said they could literally feel the charge travel down their bodies, hit their feel, stop (rubber soled boots), and promptly arc out through their lower legs. And they had the burns to prove it.
