Hi! I am about to finish Throne of bhaal for the first time. I am romancing Aerie but it seems that I just can't finish the romance because the game is too short to have the two last romance dialog to end the romance. Did someone here have a way to accelerate the romancing dialog and finish the romance with Aerie (I want to see the baby!!!)

Use Shadowkeeper and set the AERIEROMANCE global value to a smaller number (eg 1000) and load the game. It should have the dialogue initiate as soon as you start.

The baby works on its own timer. Fortunately, these timers work on real time playing the game rather than in-game time, so you can just leave the game paused and running for about two and a half days to get the baby LT. You could also CLUA or SK it shorter; the CLUA code would be:
    CLUAConsole:SetGlobalTimer("AeriePregnantTimer","GLOBAL",#)

Where # is the number of (real time) seconds you want it to take before it runs out. (Originally set to 216,000 in the sixth ToB LoveTalk. That's 60 hours.)

I think its worth mentioning that Black Isle never expected you to actually see the baby since, you know, ToB lasts one to two months at the most.

Which kinda beats the point of putting the baby and the dialogue for it in in the first place...

I've played the Aerie romance at least 4 times, and have NEVER seen the baby yet. Next time, I'm going to seriously monkey with globals!

I've got the baby multiple times without CLUA or tweaks (though I haven't played in quite a while without tweaks). I recall that the first time Aerie went into labor while we were fighting Mel. Talk about bad timing! It also made the dialog sound pretty odd. Sort of like when Jaheira chimed in with her "This may be a bad time" dialog while we were sneaking up on improved Bodhi.

It could be a simple matter of the romance author being somewhat unsure about the ammount of game time needed for players to complete ToB at the time the ToB romance was written.

Possible, but then again, I assume he'd ask if the expansion was about to take 9 months (which I doubt was ever the plan)... Actually, Avariel pregnancy is probably supposed to be a lot longer than that anyway... I'm sure someone here can quote what the manuals say on this.

You know...I was a little disappointed when I finally witnessed her giving birth. The dialog was entirely too short, the inter-party banter wasn't as amusing as I was hoping for (from the evil party members), and IIRC, Aerie doesn't even get fatigued! :skeptic:

IMO, bothering with the global timers is a waste of time since the event isn't that great...but it's good to see at least once. You'd think that something so big that spans from SoA and in to ToB would be...I don't know...*grander*. She's still my favorite romancable NPC however! :rolling:

In all seriousness, I think the birth was just put there as an easter egg.

sorry to be a thread necromancer here,

but to see this thing happen in the shortest amount of time after finishing all 5 challenges i just enable CLUAConsole, by editing the Badur.ini file by adding the lines Debug=1 and cheats=1 where appropriate, then in game i hit CTRl + spacebar then i type in

    CLUAConsole:SetGlobalTimer("AeriePregnantTimer","GLOBAL",#)

    yes?

    when i did that it said;

lua: call expression is not a function
    active stack:
    active stack:

is it suppose to do this? i dont really know ive never used CLUAConsole before.

    # is supposed to be an actual number, like 0 or 10 or 60. Assuming you did that correctly, I might try dropping the "Timer" after "SetGlobal".

i used the number 120 as in 2 minutes.

    EDIT...

i dropped the timer after setglobal, and that fixed the active stack issue, but not the time progression issue.

    Try one of these:

    CLUAConsole:SetGlobalTimer("AeriePregnantTimer","GLOBAL",1)
    CLUAConsole:RealSetGlobalTimer("AeriePregnantTimer","GLOBAL",1)

If the timer is using Real Time, the second one should work.

    Ill try those.

    EDIT...

    both of those gave me this;

lua: call expression is not a function
    active stack:
    active stack:

when i dropped the timer from SetGlobal the RealSetGlobal one did the same as before, and the other one showed up down the bottom as

    CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("AerieRomanceTimer","GLOBAL",1)

but nothing really happened, i was under the impression setting the timer to 1, will make stuff happen instanteously.

    did something messup?

ive done all the challenges, im outside, (and yes she is pregnant. i just want to speed it up.)

I'm nt sure what is wrong, then... everything is case sensitive, but you are getting that right or it would not work at all. You have Debug Mode=1 or it wouldn't work...

If you know how to use ShadowKeeper, open it up and confirm that the timer is named correcty. Edit the value to one. It should happen pretty rapidly in-game. Felinoid, are we missing something?

i thought you had to have Debug=1 and Cheats=1 or you cant eve nuse the CLUAConsole.

and im typing it as writting in these posts, maybe the variable isnt right.

ill check but i dont remember seeing the AeriePregnantTimer variable, ill look again.

    EDIT...

i looked on SK but i couldnt find anything with the word pregnant in it

If you hadn't said that she was pregnant, etc, I would diagnose this as "that means that probably you have not had the dialogue where she tells you she is pregnant -- in which case, you need to be manipulating
    AERIEROMANCE
to a smaller value, then have the LT (it is kinda hard to deliver a baby when you haven't gotten pregnant yet...)"

With your situation though, I am stumped. If you can, open SK and look at the savegame GLOBALs. Please copy and paste the AERIE related ones here, and let's see if something pops up. Depending on your platform, the list could be huge, so toss the whole thing into a .txt file and delete anything that doesn't have AER in it, and you will have dialed down to relevant GLOBALs.

The link in the earlier post about this topic has a SP Guide to the Romances which lays out what LTs happen and in what order, so I would start with that.

CHEATS is not needed, but is ok; CLUAConsole should not activate unless your baldur.ini has the line Debug Mode=1 so that also should be fine (but check it anyways, just to be sure :) )

This particular little cheat has never worked on my ToB. no matter what I did the timer wouldn't reset to a new number. Maybe now that I'm reinstalled on a new computer that will change. I do not know.
