Watched the movie on blu ray and was blown away with the visual spectacle. No not the special effects similar to movie's like The Hulk or Star Wars. No the over the top Victorian fantasy style of the actors.

This movie cannot be placed into genres like sf, fantasy or action. No, it is one of those artistic movies. A movie with the brain active. You need to think while watching. This movie is no popcorn blockbuster.

Doctor Parnassus travels with a Victorian style of mobile circus to modern day. When people step trough the mirror they arrive in their imagination and are faced with a choice. You know the kind, the kind witch involves the devil. In those imagination the second part of the movie splendour shines.

Cast Heath Ledger, Cristopher Plummer, Jonny Depp, Jude law to name the top actors.

This movie however also has faults. First, the pace is just one notch to low. It is the stlyle of the movie, you be the judge is it really is. Second, it is a big chaotic at moments. Third, the persons are a bit bland. in this type of film the next action scene does not hide it.
