these are the new star wars books. I think they are terrible for the most part and they killed the wrong people, but the newest one rebel dream was not too bad. anyone else read them?

I've read up to SbS, except for Balance Point. I personally like their style, because, well, Bantam had us pampered on the @No one ever dies@ thing. The only books in which people actually died were the X-Wing books (My faves :))
Yeah, both Chewie and Jimmy kicked the bucked, but pfffth, I don't care! Unless theu kill Corran. In that case, I'll get overly pissed. Or if they kill Kyp. (He and Jaina shoud hook up!) And yes, it is possible to like both Kyp and Corran. I love hating KYp, thgus he's a fave of mine.
I am going to the book store today to check if I could get the book following SbS< what was it called... Can't remember, the one by Cunningham anyway, Or rebel Dream.
I personally see as a problem the fact that so many characters are in limbo! Ghanner Rhysode, for a sample! (Gotta love him as well)
I am still utterly crushed because Mike Stackpole no longer writes SW. Dark Tide was incredible!
I especially love the chain of mental images that links him to Kyp and Vader, the whole Ithor thing... It suits him. Now if we just saw him going over to the dark side in full scale... Exar Kun would be proud :)
On the note of the Yuuzhan Vong... they are a very interesting culture, especially their love for pain... Shedao Shai rocked!
Although they will never learn to pronounce Jedi correctly....

I am rambling, yes? So, I shall end rant mode.
*turns a switch in her mental scape*
    Okay.
What I was trying to say is that I like NJO a lot, (almost) no matter who they kill, how many they kill, what planets they kill.

    (Ramblage is plentiful today...)

I have to say that I also quite like the NJO so far (just got Rebel Dream at one airport and had finished it by the time we landed again :)). I mean, most people are reacting to the deaths of the more famous characters, but honestly, they aren't all immortal. However I will be seriously annoyed if Wedge, Lando or Booster die ;). And killing off characters like Chewie do make people want to read more because the books no longer conform to how the books closer to the movies were. Look at you, you thought that they killed off the wrong characters and that the books are terrible, but you still read the new books as they are released. It also puts a whole new spin on things - the New Republic are seemingly losing without much hope, especially with all the infighting going on. And this whole 'Insiders' thing sounds very interesting :D.

The only Star Wars books I'll ever read and take for 'truth' are the Zahn trilogy. I don't know...I've never tried NJO, but I can't stand some other SW books I've read: Children of the Jedi, Truce at Bakura...
