Here is for all of you who say that the Matrix is a perfect movie:

The subway scene, the hobo have just been transformed into mr. Smith, with his 7 bullet, .50AE cal Desert Eagle. He shoots one bullet into the phone and destroys it, 6 left.

Neo, draws his Beretta 92FS with a 15-round, 9mm clip, no bullets fired since there have been NO hint at any reloads, and the both fire of an equal amount of round but the magazines end after the same amount of rounds have been fired from both the guns?

    WTF? I mean, seriously, W.T.F??

I have seen this scene at least a dozen times but there was a while ago so I may have one little petty thing wrong, but you will have to try to convince me pretty hard to tell me the Matrix was perfect.

Plus, the Matrix was a boring movie. There, now I said it.

Oooh, I know exactly what you mean.

That reminds me of a movie I saw once where an accountant talked about spending money on depreciation. Well, everyone knows that depreciation is just an entry which amortizes the cost of an asset over its expected useful life, and doesn’t actually represent an expenditure for a particular year.

Ruined the whole movie for me. :grr:

    :p

    *sigh*

And? One bullet too muh does not a movie ruin.

You know, I only recently realized how much that bit where they have guns against each other's heads is ripped off... it's almost idnetical to the one scene in Desperado...

    *sigh*

heh, I just like to watych and enjoy a movie. Looking for holes in the plot would ruin any movie IMO. Besides, the matrix was excellent, it was the sequels which licked B***.

B***? I have no idea what that could even mean.

But I liked the Matrix. They should have stopped with one.

The whole thing about guns firing bullets that they shouldn't even have in them is in a lot of movies. Watch almost any actioner featuring guns and you don't often see people reload or even run out of bullets! Hollywood do seem to be paying more attention lately though.

Anyway, that scene in The Matrix can be easily explained - Neo and Smith are both aware that the world within the Matrix is imaginary and so they just imagine more bullets into the gun. :p

@Aldazar, nice try, but obviously, they couldn't *possibly* run empty like they did, if that were so.

Mmmm I like the Matrix I a LOT and part two was a very decent action flick IMHO, just not the Stuff of Matrices.
'Aven't seen pt. III but 'everyone' (whoever that is) say it sucks it's arse off.

Heh if this annoys Caleb, he's gonna hate every James Bond movie ever made. :p

@Hugo - maybe it wasn't the bullets that ran out but Neo and Smith's imagination! Oh yeah, I forgot, programs like Smith don't have imagination as such do they?

Mate, it's a movie. A movie. There are many other things that don't make sense, but it's a movie. Things don't have to make 100% sense

As bad as all those people who say LotRs was a bad movie because of that apple sticker on one of the apples! Come-on, we all know it was the ghosts which killed that series ;)

One thing that ... bored me/stunned me was Trinity's death: she took about 15 minutos to die with irons crossingher body when the nurse just die in 5 seconds with just a little knife...

You know, in Commando Arnold Schwarzenegger went to stand on top of that mansion he was infiltrating so he could see as many people at once as possible. Made the shooting easier. Of course, never mind the fact that doing that he shoulda been shot within seconds.

Many series and movies also show females wrestling down a man with arms so skinny anyone can see she couldn't even nearly possess the strength to do that (the difference of strength between males and females is surprisingly big, and I can tell out of experience as well as theory).

Many movies with a genuine martial arts master doing the lead role also display rather pathetic end fightscenes, as their nemesis is usually less than good in martial arts himself. Because of this, you can see that while that ninja has beaten the crap out of everything before this nemesis, for some reason against him he just stands still and takes hits from those ridiculously slow attacks.

Also, as a firearm "specialist" friend of mine has pointed out more than once, many series and movies actually use completely wrong names and descriptions for their weapons. Being trained as a military police, I can also say that the way most series and movies display the soldiers moving and holding their weapons in urban environments is quite humorously stupid indeed.

The point I'm trying to make here, is that movies forever have and will have very obvious flaws to them. The only way you're ever going to enjoy these movies is to train yourself at least some amount of "suspension of disbelief". Calling Matrix a bad movie because of something as small as that would pass for trolling if we weren't in SP. ;)

Gone are the days when heroes like Calahan would ask a punk about how many bullets were fired from his gun. Times change... try to keep up.

    1. Yes, I am a weapon nerd. Been studying guns since I was 10, it's an obbsession.

    2. Yes, my favourite movies are actions movies. Or rather, they would be, if anyone would MAKE THEM GOOD SOMTIME.

    3. Things like wrong number of bullets in a gun is very serious for me. It's just like how the PC in Call of Duty holds the PPSch-41 wrong or how the Tula Tokarev -33 in the same game have 7 bullets in it's clip, when in the real world, the TT-33 have EIGHT!!

    4.
Yes, I hate them. Hate 'em all.

    5.
I don't look for them, for me it's pretty obvious. There is not many a gun I can not recognize* from the 1950's and forward from just looking at it. The only exception is all the different AK models.

*Name, caliber, size of clips, and general performance.

Man, I found commando rocked. Totally ridiculous and unbelievable, but that wasnt the point of the film. It was just a guns blazing action flick, with a plot tacked on as an afterthought. And it did exactly what it aimed to. Give you a large body count, and some fun explosions.

Actually that weapons freak friend of mine and I both like Commando. It has Arnold Schwarzenegger afterall! It's got attitude, a little more attitude, and then some good unrealistic slaughter (in the uncencored version of course, as if I'd watch another kind ;) ).

Well, I really (REALLY) hated Matrix when I saw it. Then I saw Reloaded, and really enjoyed myself (not it). I mean, I was laughing so hard most of the time because the thing is so ridiculous. The overacting was a killer. I want to see Revolutions, though I doubt it can equal Reloaded in that regard.

Then I started reading William Gibson's Neuromancer, and realized the Matrix was just a cheap ripoff. Sad.
