    Hello,

ive been playing NWN 1 for maybe a year or so... im not that fond of the main game.... the HoA is much better.

however, i only discovered the 'toolset's' purpose a little while ago. i gave it a try but it just wouldnt work. as soon as i created a npc/character the game would say that i had made a violation of the toolset.exe.... i tryed opening an existing module just to see if i can 'learn'something, but to no avail... the same thing happened there, as soon as i touched the character from the already existing module, it would say the same error. recently, i updated the game and i thought that it would have fixed this but its still the same problem...

does anyone know how to divert this error or just how to use the toolset so that it doesnt come up? alternatively what are some good modules (free?)

thank you for all your time

Gaah, I had that problem once, and I think I managed to solve it, but I can't remember how. I'll sleep on it and see if it comes to me. Might be best to search the Bioware forums for the solution though; you're not the only one who's had this problem.

Good free modules can be found here: http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Modules.List . There are thousands.

Well i checked out the bioware sight.... even though it had a lot of useful info, i still havent found how to fix this problem.... i assume that there must have been either a forum discussion which i didnt find or maybe a FAQ section which i didnt see in which this was adressed....

anyway.... if you cant remember how to fix the problem... what are some good modules worthy of download?

    thanks

ok, ive tried again to 'learn' by opening an existing module and nothing has really changed. i opened a module and checked out a character... not much different to what id do when making my own anyway, but when i tried clicking on another character it just showed up with the error; something along the lines off "access violation of nwtoolset.exe blah blah code blah blah". so im not too sure what to do... does this mean that its a problem with my game or do i have to manually do something in order for it to work?

    thanks again

It must be a problem with your game; I don't have to do anything to make it work after a clean install (except that one time). You're fully patched, right? If not, run the updater; it could be that the modules you're trying to open were made in an updated version. If you're patched, try a reinstall.
