This must be a bug, but it's the first time I encountered it. I actually got two Shields of Harmony in Trademeet on my last run through. I'm playing an evil character, so naturally I did the evil thing and poisoned the Druid Grove. Also while in the Druid Grove, I decided to get rid of the Rakshasa for the genies.

So I come back to Trademeet, and give the head to the genies. Next I talk to the Guild Mistress, and she gives me a reward for saving them from the genies, which includes a Shield of Harmony. Then I go talk to Lord Coprith, who tells me I'm an idiot for destroying the Druid Grove, and that wasn't what he wanted me to do, and to get out before he has me arrested. Then I head back over to the Inn to see the halfling who gave me the poison to destroy the Druid Grove, and he also gives me a Shield of Harmony as a reward. I guess this makes sense in a way - the Guild Mistress wasn't giving me a reward for the way I completed the Druid Grove quest - it was for completing the quest with the genies. Still, I doubt that this is what the game designers intended.

Yup, I got that as well after poisining the druid's grove. Latest patch and G3's fixpack and everything. I also didn't get the Feuding Families quest, which I suppose is normal, though frustrating.

Yeah, poisoning the druid grove forces you to miss the feuding families quest (but you still do get the Skin Dancer quest). You also miss out on getting your statues in the center of town. That said, if you have two people using shields, it's not a bad way to go.

Wow I did not even know about the poison as I always just did the quest with one of the druids and pounded Faldorn. Makes sense that there is another way.

The only way you get to do it an evil way is if your PC is evil. There's a halfling standing between the inn and Lord Coprith's house, and if your PC is evil, he will approach you and offer you a poison that will kill the grove off. If you aren't evil, I do not believe the halfling is even there, so you don't even get the evil option if you are of some other alignment.

Of note if you intend to try it out, it's a bit more difficult of a way to do it, and certainly not the power-gamer's choice - unless you feel like getting two Shields of Harmony outweigh everything else. Not only do you miss out on the quest XPs you'd get from Coprith, and with it the Feuding Families of Trademeet quest, the actual fight once you poison the grove is a bit more difficult as well. You see, Faldorn isn't the only druid there. And when you poison the grove, all the druids there - including Cernd if you happened to bring him with you - go bananas and attack the party. The XPs you get from the fight aren't anywhere near what you'd get for completing the quest the good way, before you even consider the Feuding Families quest XPs, which you miss out on entirely if you take the evil route.
