I just updated NwN, and ever since then the performance has been worse. It was never stellar, I have a 1.4 GhZ processor and an ATI Rage 128MB vid card, but it was definitely liveable. Now it sucks, I adjusted the video res on the lowest setting, and changed the other video setting to poor and 16MB respectively, and its still choppy and crappy. What gives?

[IMG] I was never able to figure out NWN. Often when I changed various advanced graphic settings to something other than I had at the moment, and then back again, the performance would worsen (i.e. everything'd be slower) on the same settings. So getting an ideally playable setting in NWN was always a lot of trial and error for me. Change something -> go back to the game, try spinning the screen to see the general speed, then test in game. Over and over for every setting, with the added annoyance of the whole thing usually resetting at some point in the middle of the process. Tedious and highly unenjoyable to say the least. I have an Athlon 2200+, 512MB RAM, and a GeForce FX 5200, which is not a stellar card, but damn well better than anything that was out when NWN was released originally, and I can't play SoU (which is where I'm at now) on even remotely the highest settings without annoying slowdowns. Come HotU, I'm sure the whole thing will be even worse.
