on, its not about a specific game, or any game for that matter, but about a consol.
ok, ive been trying to find a way to play my 360 without buying a television...sounds kindof dumb, but i dont really have the cash to spend, plus im in the military, so a tv would be too much to carry around.
so my guestion is, can i hook up my 360 to my laptop? i mean it has the HDMI and VGA slots, and i can get the cords for less than $20.
i cant get a strait answer, ive heard "yes it will work", and ive heard "no it cant work"
    just please clarify

[IMG] I'm guessing 230 is meant to be 360?

If you wanted to use your 360 via your laptop as a source of output you would need to alter a fair few settings and possibly require third party software unsupported by microsoft. You can't just plug it in and expect it to work easily, you'd need to find someone who knew what they were doing. Perhaps asking on a 360 fan forum or console tech forum for assistance.

You could just buy some PC games and use a controller on your laptop instead. Would take up even less room with your military limitations.

You need a capture card... but most capture cards compatible with laptops have input delay.

So it's decidedly possible, but it's a whole different question if it's playable.

I tried to do this for my PS3, but the HDMI on my computer is only an output - I suspect most laptops do not have HDMI inputs, so your computer won't recognize the 360.

99% of the cases a laptop's inbuilt HDMI connector is only output. Capture cards are usually separate.

I have heard of some Xbox emulators, but remember to turn on your antivirus before your search.

That's just bad. Bad advice, bad post.

There are no Xbox emulators - doubly so for Xbox 360. Someone once got Halo to run, and even Halo was somewhat broken. This is the original Halo. That's where Xbox emulation ended.

And suggesting emulators where he wants display from HDMI or composite to a computer screen is just bad.
