Do spells cast from a wand get their duration from the base level to cast the spell, or the caster's level? For example, will a Cat's Grace spell, cast from a Wand of Cat's Grace by a 10th level cleric, last for 1 hour or 10 hours? Thanks in advance for any info.

They'll get the level of the spell that's been assigned in the code within the ITM file, and it's usually rather low.

And their DCs suck, in case of offensive wands.

In so many cases, wands just seem like a waste of time.

^Which is a shame. Sigh. In BG1-2 and IWD they are so powerful that there are some succesful character builds based on the usage of wands. (seen 'bards and wands'?)

Well, I suppose that there's no reason that some ambitious modder could upgrade some wands. ;)

Right now, I feel so swamped with other items that doing wands would be rather far down on my list.

Silverstar (or anyone else), are bards in IWD2 able to freely use wands without having to use the Use Magic Item skill? I see in the manual under the UMI skill description that it implies that bards must use this skill to use magic items, but I'm uncertain if that's accurate.

IIRC they should need the skill of using Magic Items. However, 1 class lvl in either sorcerer or mage will enable you tu use them all without chance of failure, so why bother?

Maybe bards can use 'bard spells' wands though, like armor, horror, cat's grace etc. Gotta check. They can not use blaster wands like lightning without skill though.

I think UMI covers scrolls, but I don't think it'll allow a Bard to use a wand that contains spells that aren't on the Bard spell list (but I might be wrong).
