[IMG] I have been replaying Warcraft 2 (BNE) and I was looking for some extra info on strategies using the differnet units and spells, and I happened to find this review of the game by Christian Answers.

Occultic focus... WTF? Do these guys realise that this is a game based on a fantasy world?

Now, for all its "holier than thou" :pope: attitude, this review made me think about something. It shouldn't be a requirement to kill everything on screen just to finish a "destroy the enemy forces" missions. I can understand why the orcs would just destroy anything on their wake, but if you play with the "noble" humans, specially if you have paladins in your army, I would have liked to have the option to take prisoners.

But as the feature is not there, and the only option is total obliteration of the oppossing force, I guess I'll have to keep kicking Orcish arses (and those of their treacherous helpers)

    EDIT: spelling

The annoying thing about 'destroy enemy forces' missions was in for example the early C&C games... and Warcraft, come to think of it... when you thought you'd finished the mission - and nothing happens. You traipse around the whole map, and find one near dead orc/soldier in the shadowiest part of the furthest corner of the map. I agree, it makes the suspension of disbelief a bit more difficult.

I remember stumbling to that site too, some years back when I was looking for BG2 reviews. Gave me a few good laughs. It's one of the silliest sites I have seen.

Well, one measly peasant could potentially rebuild the whole base and army, assuming you have unused resources. I usually do that in multiplayer games where I die early - just build some important buildings in an ally's base and try to get back in the game. So it's your enemy's loss for allowing peasants to live.

One of the RTSs I played a while ago, I can't remember which, had a nice way of handling that. The units all had highly customizable AI. If there was one enemy hiding somewhere on the map, all you had to do was set your guys to 'Search and Destroy', and they'd scour the map looking for enemies.
