[IMG] There are many of them. I'll post here what has already appeared on the front page of SP. If you have any questions, comments, etc. don't hesitate to ask.

    Helping Support Sorcerer's Place

As I promised, I have made an exhaustive list of all the ways each and every one of you can help support Sorcerer's Place in one way or another now that we're on our own. The link to this support page can be found below the PayPal button on the left side of every page of Sorcerer's Place. I hope you will take the time to read through it and see if you are willing to do something to help.

Question on the pay pal thingy but just say, that the funding the whole site thing doesn't work (and lets hope that it doesn't come to it) and you have to either close down sorcerers or join another server, does that automatically stop our contributions to sorcerers upkeep? and if say we are expereincing some soughta financial difficulty ourselves during a certain period of time while using the pay pal system, could we pull out temporarailly?

[IMG] I don't think I understand your questions... Neither the first nor the second one. :p

Please clarify it a bit. You can mail me if you don't want to discuss it here.

When you use the PayPal system, it is a one-time transfer of funds either from a bank account or via a credit card.

You pay what you want when you want; it's not like a subscription where you keep paying every month or something.

I never knew that letting the advertisements full load earns you money. In that case I'll just let them load because that's about all I can do to help. Like said my mom won't by anything over the internet for me.

It must be somewhere around there... It's possible you have to sign up with PayPal first though, I'm not sure. I don't see any of that anymore because the system already recognizes me so I can't check...

As I recall a donation via Paypal through a bankaccount is not possible.
Remember that Paypal charge you for registering through Paypal, though that´s only a real real small fee.

So come on, donate just that little bit you can spare....If you don´t have a creditcard or your mom won´t let have you one, ask someone you know to pay for you Pay him or her back with a part of your allowance.
Be a little inventive, if you really want to help that is.

[IMG] Er, no. It is possible. I pasted the text I have on the helping page from their FAQ. I doubt they'd have it in there if it wasn't true.

Secondly, PayPal doesn't charge you anything just for signing up. They only deduct a percentage from the money that is deposited into one's account.

[IMG] maybe paypal've changed their system? asmodeus probably signed-up the same time i did. they debited my credit card account with a miniscule amount (e.g. 1 cent) in order for a special reference number (from a random on-line shop/store i think) to appear on your statement. you then have to tell them that number, ensuring that you actually have a card and account.

anyway, broke at the moment, but i'll be sure to donate/buy something as soon as i'm back in work...

[deity edity]: these new pop-ups are great! not like the usual rubbish. if i lived in the US i'd like to find out that my former class-mates are working under the golden arches!

I think the bank account payments through Pay Pal either have to be made by transfer to the Pay Pal account first, or via a bank account that also has a visa or similar debit card facility from your current account.

[EDIT] The way to pay from your bank account via Pay Pal is to transfer (foc) monies from your bank to the Pay Pal account. You have to have a US bank account to be able to do it though. [EDIT]

Don't know about other countries, but paying from a bank account in the UK abroad is prohibitively expensive. I just checked, and my bank would charge a minimum of £17 or ~ $25! Bless brother Visa.

A question: What are the popups from SP? I usually have about three billion browser windows open so I get loads of them, so I need to know which of them to let load themselves.

[IMG] The ones from SP are about cell phones in 90% of cases. There's also one where you can apply for a mailing list (as if), and one that tells you you're visitor 36457425767 to This Site!!!! and have won a cruise or something (erm, sorry, got caught in the moment.)

That's about it. I haven't seen any other yet.

[IMG] Tal, I noticed that you have the Chips & Bits banner up for IWD2. Does it matter which site I buy it from - C&B or Amazon - to maximize the cut SP will get? Since I'm going to buy it and NWN you might as well get the most out of it you can. Thanks.

Just an idea ... can you get the Chips & Bits adds on The Playground to switch between some of the more popular games? That might help push revenue.

[IMG] Thanks for asking... Chips & Bits gives me 10%, while I only get 5% from Amazon. And Amazon.com still doesn't even have IWD2 listed.

Anyway, the shipping times for games at Amazon are usually also a lot longer than with Chips & Bits, and games there are also more expensive most of the time.

In short, go with Chips & Bits. It's the better option all around.

And Mathetais, yes, I'm planning to implement that all over SP soon.
