    Hey,
I was thinking a bit (for a change) and I realised that for all the work that Tal and the other admins do for this site, they dont get a thing for it. My point is that I wouldnt mind a popup or banner here or there if it means that we are helping out SP. You might say that we already have the amazon.com links if we want to help out. but that costs us money. what we really need is a banner that gives a few cents per unique click per day, if each of us clicked it once a week it would add up to something fairly fast. Tell me what you think of this idea.

    Banners are generally annoying.
But anything that can help this site can't be more annoying than losing a site.

    If my opinion means anything:

    Go for it Tal!

I think it's a great idea if it helps running the site. I just want to know where to click :)

[IMG] Sorry to disappoint, but along with most of the big sites died the pay-per-click advertising. The few companies that still exercise it pay so little it's not worth the effort. Advertising simply doesn't pay.

So the best thing you can do for SP it to let the pop-up on the front page load completely before closing it, buy books/games/anything else from Amazon through links/banners on SP and, if you can, donate some money by clicking on the top banner on the boards - that will keep our server costs in check.

Besides, by buying from Amazon you're also doing yourself a favour - buying and reading a book never hurt anyone. Two days ago I've also teamed up with Amazon.de so hopefully I'll add links to buy all the books currently up through the Amazon.de bookstore as well. This should enable most of the continental Europe to be able to buy now...

The Games section has already been updated: http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/index.php, so have all the main games index htmls where you can buy official game guides.
