What can I use a DVD burner for?

    I now have installed in my computer a DVD burner/player. I was wondering what kind of things I can use it for. I have some mods and other files that I would be interested in saving on a DVD because a DVD will hold a lot more information than a CD will. Is it possible to record this kind of information onto a DVD with nero or is it possible with an additional program or application?

    nero can do that, yes.

    i use dvd burner also to save my recorded tv shows, especially sport events.

    With DVDs you can make backups of the most important stuff pretty nicely too. I use a few DVD+RW discs for backups. Unlike with CD-RW discs where you have to wait a minute or more for the disc to erase, DVD+RW discs are written right over, so there's no wait. You buy 5 DVD+RW discs or so and you're good backup-wise for years.

    IIRC, if you know what you're doing, you can use nero to make a .exe file that will auto extract all your backed up files/folders to where they came from when you made the back up.

    My buddy was telling me about this feature...pretty handy if you re-format your HDD often. :thumb: :rolling:
