I'm looking for a easy-to-use music player for my computer. I've been using Winamp for quite some time now, but I think there must be better ones out there. I've tried iTunes but it didn't quite do it for me.

Winamp pretty much tops the list of easy-to-use media players.

Of course there are other good media players - Foobar2000, VideoLAN player, Media Player Classic - but none of them beat Winamp in ease-of-use.

Also Winamp. So many features, great plugins and a brilliant GUI. Not so good for video though; Media Player Classic is my favourite for that.

iTunes does every thing I need it to do pretty well.

Which one is the best? Winamp's hard to beat.

Which one I use? XMMS, basically a Linux clone of Winamp. And for videos, gxine works alright.

Bah I use the defeault windows media player and it's absolutely fine for me. I never really liked Winamp's GUI too confusing for my taste. I need play / stop / pause / skip / add to playlist. The rest is pretty irrevelant to me.

Chalk up another Winamp here. For video I use Windows Media Player, or VLC for anything that Media Player can't handle.

I tend to go with Windows Media Player, actually. I think it runs more smoothly than Winamp and makes better use of my speaker configuration.

I use Winamp for everything except .mov and divx videos. I use the Quicktime Alternative codecs and the DivX Player for them. :rolling:

Winamp for every audio codec there is...

Media Player Classic for every video codec there is EXCEPT .3gp, .mov, .mp4 I use Quicktime Player for this one...

I just switched from Windows Media Player to iTunes. I'm pretty happy with iTunes so far.

My only gripe with iTunes is that the album art library is a bit incomplete, so the juke box browser looks a bit dumb with all the blank covers, but that's a pretty minor issue really.

I used to use winamp, but my keyboard has some pretty neat media buttons for wmp (play/pause, stop, next, precious, mute, volume control, access library and open player). For video's I find vlc to be pretty good, not too glamorous but it plays every format under the sun.
Zoom player looks pretty funky - I might try it out now.

Yeah...every keyboard has those functions for WinAMP...they're called "hot keys".

I've got Winamp set up so that CTRL ALT Space toggles the play/pause, CTRL ALT N for forward, and CTRL ALT B for back. A "fancy" keyboard is no reason to dump Winamp. :nono: :rolling:
