Could someone please confirm if druids are worth playing?
I want to know if any extra shape changing
abilities are gained per level & if so at what levels

Yes you can shapechange. Shapeshifters are able to turn into greater werewolves. But not anything else.
The normal druid has got loads of (very crap) forms to take.
Druids are hard to play solo with that is all i can say. And they only reach level 14!

normal druid->Black bear, Brown Bear, Wolf
avenger->baby wyvern, some sort of salamnder and some other things

Like Avooch said druids are hard to play (they can't were better then studded leather armor), but Jaheira or Cernd can be a great addition to your party
