[IMG] Obviously I, a) have too much free time and b) am pretty nosy, but I really like see everyone's answers to questions like this...so I'ma keep askin'...

So, what weapons\weapon style do you tend to favor for your PCs?

Since I tend to play Rangers (and Ranger-like characters) I often go with Duel-Wielded Longswords (or Lightsabers in KOTOR). If I play a Paladin, its usually Long Sword and Shield.

Since I started playing multiple PCs in different NWN mods, Ive been trying to branch out and try different weapons. Really like spears lately for some reason. And staves.

Also, lately been trying one handed swords with no shield...just for aesthetics...

For some reason, I don't often use Axes though...not any real reason not too...just don't seem to fit any of my current characters.

So, what's your preference? Any weapons you like\dislike most?

    Cheers!

    -D

Mostly I use dual wield wiz/fig whit finesse and exotic eff. for shuriken. Mystra weapon of choice. Second is the morningstar shield combo for clerics. I alway play spellcasters.

Small Guns/Energy Weapons: Finesse, Sharpshooter, More Criticals, Better Criticals, Sniper

Small Guns/Big Guns: Fast Shot, Bonus Ranged Damage, Bonus Rate of Fire

I like two-handed weapons for BG and NWN. Axes are great in IWD and BG2.

In BG I&II and most non-AD&D games, I usually prefer two-handed swords.

In 3rd edition games, I always dual-wield longswords. And I don't mean 'most of the time' always, but like always always. I just can't imagine using any other style, the same way I always use shotguns in FPSs.

I always dual-wield if that option is available, regardless of how powerful that is. I just think the idea of dual-wielding very cool. In KOTOR my PC was dual-wielding two long lightsabers, even though he got a penalty (for not having the off-hand one be a small lightsaber), but I did it just because I thought having both swords of the same length (different colours though) was much cooler.

NWN: Dual Short Swords for the Fighter/Thief, Unarmed for the monk, and weapon and shield for the Cleric.

Morrowind, One hander and shield, I try to mix it up so skills build up, making sure I have a high skill weapon for a tough fight, and vary the others based on the threat level.

Most of the (old) games I've played don't offer dual wield, so I'm used to the traditional sword (or mace for clerics) and shield style. In some games where ranged weapons are more important, I equip a bow instead.
