    Simply, what do all you BG1 veterans believe is better out of a halfing theif an a gnome theif/illusionist?(I'm meaning the two import characters) In a four man party. The other three members are a tank, a mage and a cleric.

    I'd say the Halfling Thief, mainly because of the two quick-weapon slots. A Thief/Illusionist on has one and is screwed in melee.

    BTW, you're better off with a Halfling Fighter/Thief than a straight Thief.

    I'd go with the gnome I/T, even handicapped with a single weapon slot. They have decent saves, mogic (an extra spell slot comes in handy) and gnomes are just fun! :lol: The magic can boost the thieving skills - cast Invisibility and scout an area or disarm the traps. Remember, potions weigh 1# each while spells and scrolls weigh nothing. :evil:

    I would go with Cleric/Thief or Illusionist/Thief gnome.

    Halfling thief, pure class. His skills will sky-rocket, and he can always hang back with a short bow. That's assuming your tank (and cleric) can handle things up front, of course. F/T is a waste for a halfling, IMO. If you're going to go F/T, it should be either elf (for DEX and sword/bow bonus) or dwarf (for regen and uber hitpoints).

    :hmm: And why do I get the feeling that your other three characters are going to be Kagain, Edwin, and Viconia?

    @Felinoid: No actually, I'm not going with an uberesque party, my other three characters are Minsc, Branwen and Dynaheir.

    Well it seems that I've got quite a few different responses... thanks for everyone who replied.

    Ah, Kagain, Edwin and Viconia's alter egoes :p

    I'd say gi for what you get the most fun out of :shake: or go for a Half-Elven/Dwarven F/T for reasons mentioned by Felinoid.

    Well I I've decided it's either going to elven fighter/theif or gnome theif/illusionist. Thanks for everyone's help... but before I start I've got to finish this assignment... :( :rolleyes:
