Yes, since I'm planning to buy another hard drive and/or a new mother board during the summer I'd like to know where to buy some good material at a reasonable price offline and/or online. Something in Québec, Canada near Montréal if possible. Thanks!

Also do you recommend buying computer material online? Are the price lowers online? Is it safe?

I bought my last two computers by purchasing the parts from online stores, and I will my next one too.

It is safe, and you can typically (at least in the US) find better prices than even the discount stores.

Well... there are two main online "stores" that I shop:

    NewEgg
NewEgg is awsome. They almost *always* have the lowest prices, a huge selection, and good shipping rates. Their slogan is, "One you know, you NewEgg"...which to me, means that you do all your research for a product you want to the actual manufacturer's website, then go to NewEgg to buy it. I'd give NewEgg 4.5 stars out of 5.

    ZipZoomFly
Sometimes when NewEgg doesn't have a product in stock, I'll go here. They have a large selection too, and often have free shipping deals. I'd give ZimZoomFly 4 out of 5 stars. Mainly because they have a stupid name, and their icon figure looks like Mr. Peanut without the top hat or monicle.

Now, as for being safe, the above two sites I know are safe. But one thing you should look out for is the "https" tag on the webpage where you actually give out your credit card number. The "s" means that it's secure. :thumb:

If you are having trouble finding the lowest price on an item, try going to Price Grabber They will list dozens of online retailers' prices on what you want. :rolling:

They both seems fine enough, but as far as I can tell they don't ship outside US and that is a major problem.

Oh yeah...I forgot you live on the tundra they call Montréal. :p

    ComTec Canada
Here's one I found while at ModTheBox. It looks good. They have the "Verified By Visa" thingy...which I think is the only payment option you have. I could be wrong though.

Also, here's the link for Pricegrabber Canada. They'll give you a list of reputable online retailers that offer the product you want. :thumb: :rolling:

I usually go with Tigerdirect.ca. Its decently priced and easy to deal with. I'll be buying all my upgrades here once the summer paychecks start to overcome the school loans.

Actually, I just read an article saying that newegg.com will be shipping to Canada in the near future. They'll probably use UPS as the only way of shipping...but you guys to the north will finally be able to shop there. :thumb:

I'm with Kitrax, NewEgg just rocks. I had an issue with a bad Leadtek 4200 card, which started failing after 6 months. Leadtek said they would replace it, but with a 6-8 week turn-around. I called NewEgg and they told me, "no problem, just return it to us and we will just give you an instant credit for the amount as soon as we receive it" The whole process took about one week. :thumb:
