Which C++ development environment to use

    After Java, I am starting C++. Which development environment(they should be for windows) do you advise me? And some links to that compiler will be good

    Seriously, I find emacs to be a much more useful tool to learn programming than all those other IDE's who come with annoying auto-completion features.
    The problem then, is that the IDE is writing the code for you, leaving you with almost nothing.

    Other good editors to learn programming with are notepad, wordpad and a decent hexeditor ;)
