windows password help

    I just changed a password for one of my user account on windows xp and i forgot the password. Is there a way for me to retrieve that pasword? I am still logged on to that account, i am afriad to log off.

    If you create another administrator account, you should be able to change the other account's password. Let me check if this is possible...

    Edit: Yes, it's possible. Create another administrator account. Log on the new administrator account and you will be able to change your first account password without even knowing the current one.

    You don't have to create another administrator account. Just log on as an administrator (the account exists even if he doesn't show up in the welcome screen press twice ctrl+alt+del in the welcome screen) unless of course you have not the password for the administrator, which brings you to the solution Chevy proposes.
