Was it the officer lady in one of the inns in Beregost? 500gold? Unfortunately I don't have Bg1 installed to check it. Please try with her if she is going to buy any

There was somebody who offered a premium for the pelts, but you had to make sure to only have one in your inventory at a time or they ripped you off and took all the pelts for a flat rate.
I can't recall who it was.

Officer Vai will no longer buy pelts and other animal parts in the EE. That was only a thing in the classic game due to the engine's limitations.

You can sell the pelts to the shopkeep in Nashkel's general store for 500 gp apiece. You also don't have to worry about them taking all of the pelts anymore as that was also only a thing in the classic game.

The infinity engine had limitations? Well that's an oxymoron If I ever heard one  Thanx Kenny, he buys them out right when you speak to him, don't even have to go through the process

Ever wonder why nobody has released a patch to allow a dwarven Cleric/Fighter/Magic-User?
    Or a multiclass Paladin/Bard/Sorcerer?

Although you should be able to do the former with a character editor like GateKeeper or Sword Coast Keeper by creating a half-elven C/F/M and changing the race to dwarf.

No, I haven't. I use 2e rules and refuse to upgrade

Enabling classes for specific races is simple, you just have to edit a table. Multiclass combinations on the other hand are hardcoded. You can get some fancy dual-class combos, but you'll never be a paladin/sorcerer in the EE unless they completely rewrite the code. Unfortunately, I can't even get them to update some of the very basic class code that would make modding easier, so fat chance of that ever happening unless they make the whole thing open sourced.

My own 2E P&P group never understood why gnomes could be cleric/thieves but halfings could not. Especially because most of us had played Curse of the Azure Bonds[/color] and remembered Tavern Tale #31: "Halflings are all thieves".
We could understand why you couldn't have a dwarven fighter/magic-user given how non-magical 2E dwarves were in the lore.
Heck, we were convinced gnomes being the only race that could have a cleric/thief was a misprint and it was supposed to be halflings because halflings only have fighter/thief as a valid combination while gnomes get illusionist. It would fit more with each race having a "flavor" with Haflings getting all the thief combinations. Not to mention the empathisis on halflings being burglars.

Also the race combos in BG2 are not strictly speaking the same as in the PHB but more in line with the Gold Box games plus clerics.[/COLOR]
    [/color]

I recall house ruling that if the race could single class both classes and the combo appeared elsewhere on the table, it was OK to do it, so you could have your halfling cleric/thief and your gnomish cleric/illusionist/fighter or fighter/illusionist/thief, but no dwarven fighter/cleric/thief even if we thought it would be a good combo.
Of course we also house ruled that multi-class (not dual) fighters could only get grand mastery in weapons that all their classes could use. Which screwed over C/F/M's because they could only get grand-mastery in staves and slings, otherwise they could only specialize like rangers and paladins in weapons that two of the three classes could use, or only one pip in weapons only a fighter can use.
Two class characters had a similar restriction in that they could only take 1 pip in fighter-only weapons but 5 pips in weapons both their classes could use.
So fighter/thief could get grandmastery in shortbows, but only proficient in longbows, and a f/m/t could only specialize (two points) in shortbows.

What table? I thought the race/class combos were hardcoded rather than in a .2DA file.

Nope, you can enable any class or kit for any race in CLSRCREQ.2DA.

So I can make a halfling cleric/thief by editing that file?
    Or a dwarven ranger/cleric or magic-user/thief?

Doesn't the shopkeeper in the northwest corner of Nashkel next to that inn where you're attacked asking for winter wolf pelts every time you visit?

Wasn't there a bug where he takes all of them but pays the same amount of gold for one or a dozen?
So you drop all but one before talking to him?
I know there was a bug like that in the game, but I can't recall if it was the pelts or the anhkeg shells.

Ah, no, that's Fenten in BG city. He still has the code that takes all your ankheg shells, even in the EE.
    Code:
    TakePartyItemAll("MISC12") // Ankheg Shell
Used to be the Nashkel merchant and Taerom too in classic, if memory serves, but they fixed those.
