Any chance of seeing the readme before installing Tiax?

Oh. Right. I'll ask Jason to update a .zip version with the Readme -and, of course, you can start the exe, do not actually install it, when the DOS window asks you to, and read the readme in your folder. In the meantime, here you go - a shortened version:

    ----------------
    1. Introduction
    ----------------

Tiax NPC MOD for Baldur's Gate II (Tiax for short) is an add-on for the game
Baldur's Gate II, with or without the Throne of Bhaal expansion pack.
Throne of Bhaal content is present.

Tiax, a non-player character from the first game in Baldur's Gate series, is a
gnome thief/cleric, a priest of Cyric with a sole goal in mind: world
domination. Notable quotes: "Tiax rules all!"

    ----------------
    2. Installation
    ----------------

Make sure that you have obtained and installed the latest official Bioware patch.
Install the official patch BEFORE installing any unofficial modifications.

Make sure that Baldur's Gate II or ANY game-related utilities are not running.

To install the mod, run Tiax_v1.exe.

Once you see the Readme, the installation is complete.

To reinstall or uninstall the mod, run Setup-Tiax.exe in your game directory.

    -----------------------
    3. General Information
    -----------------------

Tiax is available to join the party in Chapter 4. He has no items, so it is
advisable to secure some for him in advance.

Tiax has a short "friendship" path with the PC, banters with every Bioware NPC,
a number of interjections, character reactions and other scenery dialogue.

Depending on PC' level in Chapter 4, Tiax' experience may equal to 400000, 800000, 1200000, 1600000 or 2000000 experience points.

In ToB, Tiax starts with 2500000 experience. Once he reaches level 25 in his
cleric class, he receives the Holy Cymbol of Cyric.

If you experience any problems with Tiax's select/confirm sounds, select him
in the game and press K key. This should fix the problem.

    ------------------------------
    4. Frequently Asked Questions
    ------------------------------

    Q: Where is Tiax?
    A: This answer contains spoilers.

Tiax spawns in Chapter 4, in Spellhold, right after Irenicus leaves it,
and the inmates drop dead. He is also available from the Fate Spirit in the
    Throne of Bhaal.

    ...

Q: Tiax's select/confirm sounds are all mixed up!
A: Select Tiax and press K key.

Q: Is Tiax compatible with mod X?
A: Tiax should work fine with other mods.

Wow, thank you! Though to tell you the truth I could not stand Tiax in BG1, I really do not want to see him in my party in BG2 or beyond...but I am sure he has many fans around! :p

New version of Xan has s lot of new goodies, I see. Though I still haven't tried the old version, but your mod surely tempts me to play with a female protagonist to romance him! But I really do not want to play as a daughter of Bhaal. Does the friendship part for male PCs really have much content?

    I've missed Xan.

I also missed that ToB content was already available!

In other words: am very happily installing Xan v3 right now.

"Does the friendship part for male PCs really have much content?"

More than any other NPC up to date has, I'm afraid. Once I started, I just couldn't stop.

The friendship path and both of the romance paths have the same amount of content, or close.

Cool! Thanks, I may just try him in my next run through, I think I will like him as a fighter/mage, the mod still has that option to choose his class, yes? :)

It sounds like he's even better (than previous versions) so I'll go with him - again and again and...

Found a small typo, Kulyok. Xan, squabbling with Anomen regarding the search for Montaron:

This 'halfling friend' is <CHARNAME> former acquaintance ... (etc)

    Should be:

This 'halfling friend' is <CHARNAME>'s former acquaintance

Thank you! I wondered if anyone would get this interjection, to be honest: most players seem to have performed the deed before approaching the Harper guard.
