    A. Carsomyr isn't something you get with a paladin CHARNAME immediately unless you want to blow your stronghold quest.

    B. You don't have to always use Carsomyr even when you have it in your possession. Mind-blowing, I know.

    C. The point is, Mazzy has proficiencies already spent in short swords when you get her. If you want to play efficiently, you use what's already there.

    D. Or you can use whatever weird urban myth that people on this forum subscribe to that says that Mazzy has to use halberds, even though it makes no sense.

    Mazzy's an archer. Having two-handed weapons in her quick-slot is handy and efficient. Halberds are good two-handed weapons.

    Mazzy's the closest thing to a pally a halfling can get according to her banters. So at least I tend to think her as a knight, not a paladin, but a noble warrior. Halberds fit as weapons for a noble warrior...and Mazzy wielding them makes her rise above the expectations people get from her diminutive stature...

    No offense but I just can't help laughing when I picture Mazzy wielding a weapon that is twice as tall as she is. :lol:
