Did you happen to get his login name?

 

D'oh! I feel so stupid. When Babras killed him, I thought to myself that placing traps like that is illegal. I looked at his Gamespy Name, but I can't remember it. I should have written it down. I think he created a new character with Katahdhin as last name, is that useful information? Is there any way to get his login name now? Maybe there are logs made by NWN which I can view and look for his login name?

 

Man! I've been missing all the fun stuff...12 hour workdays suck! But I AM enjoying the money....

Really there are some real lame players on ALFA. Placing traps is one of those. Repeated violators should be banned if you ask me.
Gee, am i glad there's such a selection when accepting a player... obviusly though some people can lie mightily.

Logging of when danger threathens... uhm... . Well it aint right either.

At least i know one player to watch out for... though his attack could be completely IC. Really its a shame i didnt look for the first player who almost killed me becouse i was afk.


Oh... 20 or more of my axes broke in a single throw . Description says it is a "magical borken weapon" . Axes were normal... Whats up with this then?
And where can i repair them.

On one of my other characters I was going to do the wayward soul quest with some friends, and we got down to the door to the area the soul resides in. Saw a PC in hiding in the shadows, and retreated a bit, thinking that perhaps it might have been an undead or something. But one character said that he knew the guy, So we all went back through the door and went on. But now, all of a sudden, there are traps lining the hall way to the soul. After an over active PC triggers practically all of them (about 3 layed out one after the other) We get to the room with the soul, its dead. And there are two PCs in the room. One drinks a potion of barkskin, gets his axe out, and runs past us to the exit.

The other guy admits that the one that ran past us had aggred with the guy in the crypt that they would both attack us. But when the remaining guy in the cryot didn't attack, the one who wanted to kill us ran out.

Blah, thats confusing because I can't remember their names.

Today i was sent a tell by an unknows player. Said he was attacked by a guy. Unarmored and unarmed. Just created it seemed. He did 5 damage to her, then stopped. Then he said OOC to him that it was a mistake. So the other player didnt attack. A second later he attacked again. This time he's gotten himself killed

The player name who attacked without provocation was Nayest. Or so the attacked player said. I told him to remember the name and tell the whole story to the DM when he logs in.

Hopefuly one of these lame bastards will fly off for good.

 

Was just looking at the statistical breakdown on the website.
Rogues get a whopping 17 percent of all chracters. Everyone's favourite character - including my own, I guess. So I won't be starting out with a thief then....
It'd be interesting to see how alignment breaks down over classes

 

Fyr ... don't worry too much about what the stats say. I'm not sure those are updated consistantly. And, while there may be a good number of rogues, you can go anywhere with the class.

Take Rem, the high conselor, or *name withheld*, a follower of Baal planting traps to kill poor goodie-goodie players. Very different to RP, but the same class.

Let us know what server you're thinking of starting in, and if its Daggerdale, give us yer name so we can keep an eye out for ya!

 

Rogues are fun...But they have definite disadvantages! If you're out alone and get into a fight...If your sneak attack doesn't kill your opponent, or get them "near death." You can be in a lot of trouble.

Plus, you get very little magical help, so you have to relay on tactics and traps. The only way Rem survived is that he knew when to run! I also made sure I travelled with others...That way you can make the most of the rogues sneak attack!

For ALFA, I think the most powerful pc class is the cleric, or druid...Maybe the mages at higher level. Magic is so scarce on the servers, those that can make their own have a huge advantage!

 

No doubt about how powerful is casting stoneskin on yourself and then smacking some butt


I think one player will be banned soon. And i'm damn glad of it.

First i got a tell from i player. I didnt remember his playername Lets say he's John.

Now john said he was attacked my a player. did 5 damage to him (both lvl1). Then the attacker stopped. He said OOC that it was a mistake. And when John tried to RP it out, the other player attacked again!
John won with a good placed blow.


Second time i was there myself. I saw the same player (Nayest) logged in. I didnt recall his chars name so i ran to the rivergate and later to marketplace to see if this is truly an *******.
First he called me a dwarf a bit strange but i thought that his char is a bit insulting.
Then he went and bought traps. How much i do not know. And he set one in front of the trap seller. I said ooc to him that setting traps around is illegal. He didnt care.
It was night but he wanted to buy himself a longbow, so he went to Fletcher to buy one. I followed. There he kept running in and out just to annoy me.

Then a druid came. He's elven so he's got a strange long name
I told him what happened, and we agreed that i should tell DM all this.


So now, watch out for a player named Nayest and fletcher's shop (he probably laid whole bunch of traps there).

Sir Bel now that you're a DM you could do something about it no? I dont doubt another DM got a message from John about his experience with Nayest.

 

Yes...We know about Nayest...I think there is a plan to deal with him

Grrr.
I won't be able to play on ALFA for a while. a few days at the least.

My father updated our version of windows while my NWN game was installed, and for some reason, it really doesn't like it, eg, it won't play the game, more specifically, when I load up the game, the screen that normally says, play, exit etc. Before the game has actually loaded, none of the text appears, when I click where the button that said play is, the screen goes black and freezes.

I'll have to reinstall.

blah. Nevermind, I just got Baldurs Gate: Dark alliance, perhaps that'll keep me busy for a while.

For some reason, IWD2 doesn't like it either, the game freezes in practically the same place as NWN, the vidoe screen bits. Could this be something more then the upgrade effecting my games, my dads Flight Sim 20003 doesn't mind it and still works.

 

Things slow here or is it just me? I've not been involved in much of anything lately. Is anything happening in ALFA?

 

A lot of building going on...Think of the last few months since live as working out kinks in the system. There's been a lot of talk about the relatively high level pc's on DD are attaining. That's another reason the changes in the spawn areas were made.

I'm now in charge of the Freedom FIghters, and I am working on their charter...So I haven't been in game much.

 

Same here. Nothing exiting. I wasn't able to go online that much in the last few weeks, and when I did it was for conversations with treehuggers around the campfire.

I went to the mountains with Hignar Ironstar about a week ago. He said he would show me the Ironstar Halls, but when we were half way, he had to leave, because work called him. So, I went back to town and talked with treehuggers and clerics.

 

I dont know....Havent been up last few days.

Treehugers are socialising waaaay too much if you ask me anyway. People are people no matter how good they roleplay you still wont see a guy just wandering around in the wilds. Not hunting, even if just worgs and such unnatural stuff.
No fun doing that. You're alone, surrounded by pre-made enviroment without other players to make some interaction.
Of course if a DM is around it makes fun . But there's not such a big chance that a DM gets involved with you if you're just walking around.

Last time i was walking around, yes hunting not just walking. Roshnak is no treehugger so he doesnt mind killing some beasties. I didnt know if a DM was on, hehe apparently he was He set two goblin archers and a goblin elite(these elite are just too unfair! i missed when i got 21 roll when attacking!!)
Luckily i rolled two ! natural 20ties and fell the gobbie

 

Personally, I'm currently in 'electricity limbo' with the recent black out Until all of the power stations come back on-line (probably end of the week), the whole province has been under intense pressure to conserve energy, and especially the city of Toronto. Which means virtually no computer use at home, other than maybe 20-30 minutes a night...and no ALFA period. Not fun, because when I peruse the ALFA boards I can see that things are happening on Arabel. Figures

 

Grrr. I still haven't been able to reinstall NWN.
Hmm. Anyway, my character Analia is a ranger, but shes notree hugger, not really anyway, she doesn't care about the circle much (yet) more of a rebel.

*sigh*

That way I don't have to go out and *stop* people from hunting, which is harder then it sounds. Thats how Tae met her end.
