    The largest I've seen so far have been around 7cm or so... thankfully, most of them don't go beyond 4-5cm.

    Yeah, I get some spiders that big in the house, but they're mostly leg with a tiny body.

    I'd disagree ;)

    The local reptile shop I bought my girls from in August had a snake room and I was allowed to hold one of the young Pythons.

    I fell in love instantly and that was my Birthday present. He's called Merlin and he's about 15" long at the moment but will grow to around 5' - he's a stunner, the shop keep tempting me into getting interested in breeding him as he has excellent markings for a non-morph Royal.

    I also look after the crickets that the girls need to eat right until I pop them in the carton to dust them with nutrients then let them be hunted. The occasional escapee gets fed to the Venus Fly Trap.

    It also *is* recorded that insects, reptiles and fish register pain differently. Much like the number of mammals can ignore pain in certain conditions (labour in many hooved animals for example, is painless. Humans however...)

    It is woefully underesearched and recorded though.
