Mollusken, when you are training, it's not about how many kg you are using, but how you are training. Take it easy in the beginning. :)

I am not a geek. No way. Nope. I do sports and go to the gym about 5-6 times a week. (No, I'm not the big bulldozer type. Im training to be fast and agile.) I always watch sports in television, well I'm generally a sportsfreak.

But then, beside sports, my main hobbies are computers and fantasy, ranging from the forgotten realms novel to warhammer fantasy battle. Hell, the only books I read are fantasy. So maybe I'm a geek! (At least I'm ranting on and on....)

    Greets! :)

[IMG] Well, all this talk about training has me interested. I'm a bulldozer type myself. If anyone ants to see Orkrist the Cleaver, click here:

I hope I don't get in trouble for this?

Well, it doesn't "light up" and its not clickable, but you can type it in if you want.

    I've never had a girlfriend.
I've never had a friend (except Minsc)
I spend more time on the computer than off
    I get A's and B's
I run on the crosscountry team
I clicked on the link Orkist provided
    My one nongeek trait:
I lift weights. so I can beat you all down, or die trying. And it'd probably be the latter.

Adding: I get only 5 and 6 grades (in Norway, 1 is the worst and 6 the best) at school (except from in the basic subject of Norwegian). Mathematics, physics and computer stuff are my favourites.

-I love love love D&D, and when I'm not playing, I think about it. I talk about it. I spend much time putting together characters that never see playing time. I create them, y'know, just in case.

-I go to all the ren fairs in the area, and dress up. We've been going to one so long, some of the vendors give us free passes.

-I totally dig history. I'm gonna be a history professor.

-I'd rather go to Gettysburg than Cancun.

-Cool people look at me funny. Actually, all my "cool" friends abandoned me, and now the only people I hang with are my geek brethren.

-I wear glasses. (Well, I have them, and I should, but I sometimes forget to bring them when I leave the house)

    -I adore my computer.

-Athletics and I are complete strangers. In high school, I got a 33 in gym. That's a percentage.

Those are all that I can come up with right now, but I'm sure there are more that I'm missing.

About the only trait that marks someone as a geek is the shear inability to communicate/interact (sucessfully, mind you) with your fellow humans, inhabiting planet Earth.

I've seen a *WHOLE* (<<<< emphasis) bunch of EE (electrical engineering) geeks, Mathmatical geeks, Compsci (Computer Science) geeks, and Physics geeks.

Not seen too many Biology geeks. Nor Agriculterial Communication geeks.

And, no. Sucessful interaction with your fellow humans does not have to include consumption of ethyl alcohol...

  13. Well, I can't say I am a geek but here are on of the reasons why I am geeky:

-My ass did *not* hurt after watching the LoTR movie.

    Eze&Shark: You speak Finnish? Cool!

    I am a geek, because...

    I reply to this thread
I have glasses, that I have to use if I want to be able to see even my own nose
If I woyuld put a little more effort on studying, I'd get As, but as I am lazy as hell and rather spend time on my computer than studying, I get grades from B to C without even trying.
I spend at least six hours on a computer every day.
I love books, and learned to read without any help before I was 4.
I read stuff like Thhe Egyptian or Shogun in Elementary school
I love computer games (Bought IWD & HoW when I was on vacation... see me happy?)
I love all sorts of fantasy books, and can brag that I have read all the DL Chronicles AND legends on a same day :)
I have no friends to speak of
    I have never dated anyone...
I hate any sorts of physical activity except for downhill skiing and cycling
I have been picked on because I am a geek for a decade
When I was in junior high, I took computer studies of sorts... and it usually took me about five to ten minutes to do the assingment, when for others t took the whole two periods... Actually, my recrd was forty-five seconds...
I am skipping school to catch up on the boards after my holiday...

    That's a few

Hey, definition time. Is there any distinction between "geek", "nerd", "dork" etc., and if so what are the precise definitions. These things I must know...
