Ah - a tangible benefit to being married in the USA then? We have no such odd rules in NZ. I certainly didn't get a discount when I got married, but my insurance is already pretty low so that's OK.

My thoughts exactly! That's the way everything is though...just wait until Wal-Mart owns all the retail stores. $20 for a pond of apples? Where else are you going to get them?

I'm not stupid, and I can see why the government has passed laws requiring every car, truck, and motorcycle to be properly insure, I just wish the good ol' government would step in and limit some of the ridiculously high rates. How can you abide by the law if your car insurance is equal or more than your monthly car payment?!? :bang:

I don't really understand the thinking behind either discount. You're just adding more lives that ride in the car with you, and therefore more lives that can get injured. Besides, I see people that don't bother buckling up their kids (or their wife :p ), and I see them crawling around the car/van while they're driving all the time!

But if it takes marriage and some kids for a discount, I'll bump our wedding to next week, and I'll try to get her pregnant a.s.a.p. :rolling:

Make sure that you and/or someone you knows has an apple tree. You'll have to do that when the world runs out of cheap petrol anyway.

Well, im on £800 a year on a 1.2 Clio insured for any young driver, but thats under my dad with 30+ years of no claim bonus.i think your getting ripped off, i hate people who are indecisve at roundabouts or anywhere, its like the people who think they are going to make the green, but when it turns amber they slam the breaks on instead of going through which is what the amber is for, that causes more accidents than people running red lights.

Damn, I just had another smash. I feel like crying.

Since the last incident, I pay around £1000 on insurance, that'll fly up now. Absolutely flt up. That's if I get insured at all.

I'm so pissed off :( . Can not believe it.

Two at-fault accidents in the same year? Dire news indeed. I cannot even predict how much you'll pay now, as I don't know anyone who has had two at-fault collisions in less than a year. You maybe going back to riding the bus my friend.

I hit a parked car, my back wheels locked up. I knocked on the nearest house and asked if it was their car. IT was, so I left my insurance details with them. That's honesty for you! Honesty that'll cost me... but you'd hate for someone to hit your car and do a runner.
