I disagree, a f/t/m moves up in levels too slowly, stick with a f/t (preferably elf to get dex 19). I don't get how those chests are so hard to open...if lock-picking doesn't work, try the mage spell "knock" it should work if the chests don't need keys.

[IMG] That is one reason why the mage element in F/M/T is handy. I never really thought it was a too slow to go from two to three classes. The worst step is from one to two classes concerning level ups.

Anyway if I want a Thief I bring him along single classed. Preferably dual from 3th level fighter. Extra HP and weapon specialisation.

    PS: This toppic is old.

Depends on just how *EVIL* you really are...

I tried smashing those chests too and got nowhere. I don't have a thief (have 3 fighters, ranger, cleric-mage and bard), but wish I did. I'd thought about creating a thief, but these other characters are between levels 7 and 9---I'm afraid of losing their experience...so those chests in Dragon's Eye just sit there unopened. I tried everything---smashing them, shooting fire and arrows at them---still they sit.

[IMG] Spellbound, try the second level mage spell "knock" as mentioned previously. It will open all locks which any thief could have openend. Try stores if you don't have it with you. Both your BArd and you mage may have it.
