You're missing the point Rastor. Items play an interesting part in which class can be come more powerful. It's as natural as mages being able to use spells, and warriors having better-than-normal THAC0. Be open-minded for once. Being a modmaker you may think this is unfair since you could probably conjure up the item you just mentioned and some classes would be able to use it no matter what restriction you put in, but that's why I limit the item range to SoA, ToB and the Bonus Merchants. Putting in other additional items is like granting the mage a new range of skills.

It doesn't matter how good a player is when he finds himself at a loss of tactics because of the restrictions of the class, though he may be able to get around this.
In the case of the Monk, he can't be hasted, he can't wear armour, and he can't use helms. These are already harsh disadvantages.

As for which class is more fun, that depends on person to person - and even in my debates I specifically stated how a Bard should be played, and that if you hated the class for any reason other than the misconception that it's weak then you have all the right to do so.

I beleive monks to be the better class and always have! They CAN be a fun class to play, not much of a modifyable class, but they are better on paper! My last game I went through as a Monk and he has got to be the most powerfull character Ive made. His save are incredible, along with his attack, resistances, and special abilities. I defeated Firkreeg (mispelled?) with my monk alone on level 20 with a greater whirlwind attack. Monks are deadly with the fighter pool abilities.

But monks can use ioun stones, and I think the pale green one is the best. Also, although they can't be hasted, their movement speed is pretty fast, and with Greater Whirlwind in ToB, the number of attacks doesn't matter. Also, monks get quivering palm, so they have the ability to make a one-hit-one-kill.

Monks can use Ioun stones but none of them improve saving throws and the Paladin gets Helm of Balduran to match his saves with the Monks.

And also I don't think monks should get the fighter HLA's abilitys since he is completly different to any fighter, and Balthazar and his monks used a whole heap of different monk HLA's when you were facing him (if anyone wants to know you can get monk abilitys through the oversight mod)

Those monk abilities in Oversight make the monk so blasted overpowered that he could kick the paladin six ways to Sunday and not even take a scratch.

Vstyle: What's that to do with anything? the Monk uses the warrior HLA's and so does that Paladin they get the exact same abilitys, minus the summon Deva which the Monk makes up for whith his own abilitys.

you can also kill a dragon with chromatic orb, insects, insect plague and other low level spells if you decrease the dragons resistanses enough.

but you all now this already

about the two classes, i like the paladin the most. monks tend to die alot when i use them :(
somehow they seem weak to the death spell.....
