I've just watched Zoolander. Truly amazing. I didn't expect it to be so funny.

Zoolander being one of the funniest comedies in a long time. IIRC it even had a group-sex scene which had three finnish dwarves and a buddhist monk!

    Is it underrated?

The Karate Kid - as it is pretty impossible to over-rate this piece of cinematic genius. Death Rabbit?

I did like Deep Rising! Was fun, and the horror aspect to it kept it enjoyable.

Quigley Down Under. I'm not particularly fond of westerns but found this one to be an exceptional movie.

Tom Selleck is....Tom Selleck. No one could replace him in this role. And Alan Rickman's perfomance as an intelligent bad guy annoyed with being forced to deal with dull underlings is very entertaining. Even Quigley's love interest (can't remember the actress' name) turns out to be very likable and appealing.

Underworld. For me the best movie of the century until now. I casually sat at the TV one evening without ever having heard of it or knowing the actors and the great athmosphere really soaked me in and the surprising plot really left a deep impression on me.

I was really surprised about the reviews which I read afterwards, rants about how vampires and werewolves were different (and more complex) from the Buffy or Dracula mainstream popcorn movie tradition (so the story is considered illogical) and about other movies having dark athmosphere and cloaks before (so it's considered a rip-off).

It's really a pity that there are hardly any movies nowadays which care for a story and keeping up the athmosphere. I don't want any superstar actors which I know from other movies who rather showcase themselves instead of playing their role and monster marketing campaigns to pump into my head how kick-ass sexy "everyone" considers the actors, I don't want a non-comedy movie destroying its athmosphere by showing that it doesn't take itself seriously in order to fake intelligence and make it less criticizable for reviewers, I don't want more and more explosions, special effects and extra fast action where you can't see what's happening or extra unrealistic stunts just for promoting more action and a flat and illogical story which doesn't benefit from brain use, so you can crunch popcorn and use your laptop without missing too much.

My favorite part from Willow is when they release Val Kilmer from his cage, he jumps out and yells "I feel ..Better!". I use that quote all the time and no one ever gets it.

I'll vote for any of Terry Gilliam"s movies, like Time Bandits or Adventures of Baron von Munchausen.

Then there's Cabin Boy with Chris Elliot: Extremely stupid, but funny and really underrated

Couple of others: Last Days of Frankie the Fly with Dennis Hopper and Darryl Hannah, and Hell's Highway with a cameo from Ron Jeremy

Debbie Does Dallas -- the original!

OK, seriously, I have to vote for The Mosquito Coast, starring Harrison Ford. IIRC, it's the only time he's ever been in a villainous role, but even so you can't really call him the villain of the piece, more like the "really creepy guy who you can really believe could exist." I highly recommend it.

Silver City (2004). Kind of a more local version of Primary Colors (another really good one) which had some truly exceptional performances from its ensemble cast.
