    The castle is an old one and the boy and girl race along a beach to get there. The girl wins, but I suspect the boy let her win. A hint of young romance is in the air.

    No. The castle is abandoned and is the scene of a climactic battle near the end of the film.

    This is actually not THAT hard. Some of you will kick yourselves for not getting this earlier.

    This still not ringing any bells for anyone? Hmmm.

    The girl is Japanese, but the boy is American. Not sure what else I can say about this scene. Maybe this will clinch it for someone. There is a song playing in the background as they race to the castle and one of the lines is about taking me to my castle far away which may or may not be coincidental

    nope and nope. sorry, forgot to update this. okay, here're some hints:

    the photograph is black and white and there are a number of people in it. the picture is of some gangsters and their small-time henchmen. one of the henchmen is the important one (the one that gets red ink on his face)

    this is more or less a giveaway i think.

    nope ;) the fact that they are mobsters isn't really important. the main clue is that the picture is in black and WHITE and that he uses a RED pen to draw on the man's FACE before he can identify him. That's a dead giveaway I think. JSBB could probably nail this one now I think.
