    That was exactly what I was thinking before even the 1st clue :doh: :bang:

    But I didn't post it because I rmembered it differently.. weren't they running away when his friend was hit by an arrow or something? because he still had time for the dying words and to give him the ring and told him to take care of Marian? :confused:

    Yes, you're right, but with his dying breath, he runs on the guards to buy them time. I remember this because Morgan Freeman grabs Kevin Costner so he doesn't run after his friend and says "Don't let his sacrifice be in vain" (or something like that).
