The really sad part is that my government now has officially apologized to the Indian authorities, for 12 Indian citizens acting like a bunch of retards on an international flight. Why they felt the need to apologize is completely beyond me.

You haven't seen anything yet. If, and mind you that i say if, these guys thought it was funny to scare the crap out of people on an international flight, i would have had them whipped the flesh of their backs before sending them back to India. If you're gonna say sorry, you better have a good reason to do so. Do you have any idea what the delay of one flight costs ? Not to mention the dropping of a full tank of kerosine, or the two fighter jets that had to escort the plane back to where it came from ? Who's going to pay for that ?

If the pilot thinks he knows better than the security which controls these 2 passengers; he can work in the security instead of flying that ******* plane. If he does his job well and trusts and shows respect to security, he doesn't risk any lifes

Now that's where you're wrong. It's the pilot who makes the decisions onboard, not security. If the pilot thinks something's wrong, he has the authority to turn the plane around and take it to safety. He is the captain, it's his rules.

You wanna hold it against the pilot that he brought the passengers to safety first and ask questions later ? Even play the racecard in this issue ? Please...that is so friggin pathetic.

Yes, the pilot has the right, but it doesn't mean he can use it whenever he wants. He must to have RATIONAL reasons. The real pathetic thing is the racism in this issue and your support to it. It's nauseating...

See ? There goes another one playing the racecard, and accusing me of racism in the proces. Now if you'll excuse me, i'll think i'll go and talk to that brick wall overthere, maybe i'll get some common sense and decency out of him.

It's both intensely depressing and deliciously ironic when people make generalisations about the British due to the generalisations made by a PLANE'S WORTH OF BRITS.

Yes, these people made a decision which may have either been due to the media's super-hype of terrorism or due to their own subconcious racist tendencies, let's just use this to damn the entire country, since these maybe 50-odd people were obviously representative of THE ENTIRE POPULATION OF ENGLAND.

It's thanks to people like you that we have these kinds of issues.

You already made it personal by saying that i sympathize with racists, which i find pretty amazing since you don't know a damn thing about me.

Let me try and point something out to you before you go on another racism crusade. The planes that crashed into the twin towers were hijacked by people of Asian/Arabic origin, the trains in Madrid were blown up by people of Asian/Arabic origin, the busses in london were blown up by people of Asian/Arabic origin...see where i'm getting at here ?

Now then...when people of Asian/Arabic origin act suspicious on an airport, or in a plane for all i care, wouldn't you think that the other passengers get a little intimidated, or scared perhaps ? And wouldn't you say that the authorities have every right to thoroughly straighten these people out, to root out every risk ? Or do you think that people of Asian/Arabic origin haven't given us any reasons lately to mistrust their intentions ?

Is that paranoid ? Perhaps it is, but it's only natural after recent events. Is it racism ? Definitely not. Tossing in the racism card is just a lame excuse from people who can't come up with better arguments on why this was not handled by the book. Too bad, but i'm not falling for that crap. If they hadn't drawn any attention to them, nothing would have happened, and everyone would have gone their jolly seperate ways, but apparently they chose to play a little mindgame and see if they could get away with it.

OK, there have been comments directed at people personally that are stepping over the line. Try to discuss the topic and not the poster please.

I think both of Ahrontil's posts on page 3 of this subject are extremely eloquent. :bravo:

I have never wanted to be or even have racisit tendancies but I think Pac Man hit the nail on the head.

Let terrorist history speak for itself. Since the 80's every terrorist activity taken against America has been by people of Asian/Arabic origin.

Well you could also say, Australia, New Zealand, America, and Africa were all invaded by the British who slaughtered their indigenous people...

I don't support terrorism. But do you think why America? Sometimes you should ask "Why?". Because they are suffering from US. Terrorists doesn't have to be from small groups. US and its intelligence agency are the most terrorist organizations in the world.

Given that probably 80% of the world's population is of "Asian / Arabic" origin, that is hardly surprising. Just about everything that has happened in the world is more likely to involve people of Asian or Arabic origin.

Well, let me add "Islamic" to Asian/Arabic origin then, that should thin the herd a bit. Because that's what it is, Islam versus everything else that's not islamic. Somewhere in this thread i've read what a peaceful religeon Islam is, but if you wish i can quote a few passages from the Koran that proof it's everything BUT peaceful. And i think i's those exact same quotes that are the main reason that this religeon brings forth so many luntatics. There are plenty of peaceful and moderate muslims in the world, but there's also plenty of idiots among them. Perhaps there are two different versions of the Koran ? One for moderate muslims and one for dummies ?

You know, if you say things like that in my country, the government will make you disappear real fast. They'd lock you up for a couple of years maybe, without trial. :mommy:

And I did not say this... :outta:

To be honest, Pac Man, I don't think you can start racially profiling people like that. I don't think it's acceptable to make a judgement on somebody based on the colour of their skin, their religion or their creed. I completely agree with keeping security tight, but everybody should be subject to the same treatment.

At least one of the men arrested from the recent bomb scare in UK airports wasn't from Asian origin, he was as British white as you can be. What if we miss terrorists like this just because we have bracketted Muslims/Asians as being the 'bad guys'?
