I honestly think that if anyone knew the show they would be able to get it from the hints provided so if no one posts the answer by the time I get home tonight I will post another show.

Edit: O.K. - the show was Once a Thief.

The main character of this children's show boasted (as part of his almost constantly used theme song) "I can do most anything,I can play and I can sing".

That is from the North American version - in the U.K. they retitled the show, dubbed in a British voice, and completely changed the song. I gather the U.K. name, voice and song were so bad that the show was cancelled almost immediately.

No this is quite a bit older than Barney - I think that it was animated using a mixture of simple cell animation and claymation.

The main character seemed to spend a large portion of his time travelling off on adventures, getting lost, and trying to find his way home again. The show was somewhat unusual for a children's show in that, instead of having interchangable one episode stories, the entire series was pretty much made up of one multiple episode storylines after another.

The main character was a bear. The title of the show was simply the bear's name. The first line of the theme song was "I'm a bear called ______". I have already provided the second and third lines in my first hint.

    No,it isn't Humphrey.

    Edit:

Final Hint: Here is a picture of the main character. This should help for any of the non-North Americans who might know it by one of its other names.

    Name that Bear

Sorry, that bear does not look the least bit familiar to me. He just looks like a floppy rag. Are you sure that's not just one of your old teddy bears JSBB?

    Yeah, I'm sure.

I was doing a little research and I have found that besides the North American and British versions there were also French, Dutch, Polish, and Norwegian versions.

The French, Dutch, Polish and Norwegian versions apparently all used the same name for the character but it was completely different than the names used for the British and North American versions.

Oh, and here is another picture showing a scene from the show.

not a member so i can't see the picture but I think that if those that can see it still cant identify it, this may be yet another stumper :p

my guess: Rupert? He's the only talking bear I can remember aside from Winnie the Pooh.

    No it isn't Rupert.

O.K. - I guess this one was a stumper too. That makes two in a row. The answer is Jeremy. In the U.K. he was Barnaby, everywhere else he was Colargol.

I guess I will have to overcompensate and make the next one absurdly easy. :thumb:

This show was/is about a group of humans fleeing from red-eyed robots.
