    Salt and pepper shakers have never, before or since, been featured so prominently in a TV show as they were in this. They appeared in almost every episode!

    :doh: I stand corrected on my guess about the prominence of salt and pepper shakers. That fits the clue, but it's not the show I'm thinking of.

    in this show the salt and pepper shakers were used prominently, but never as salt and pepper shakers. Truthfully, I didn't realize what these items really were until only recently.

    i know I'm being grossly obscure, but considering just how un-obscure the show is, I have to find some way to make it a game!

    hmmm, this is proving much too obscure....

    The salt and pepper shakers appeared in almost every one of this show's 84 episodes, which aired over three seasons.

    Well, I know that some of Dr McCoy's surgical tools were salt and pepper shakers -- it was common to use anything odd for FX stuff in early television. The shows most known for that were Batman, Star Trek and Lost in Space -- only Lost in Space may fit your last clue (ST had less than 80 episodes and Batman was more than 3 seasons), but I have no idea what the S&P shakers are in the show.

    There are probably a bunch of other shows that could also fit with the clues.
