    Yes, well first you will have to get all those "kind hearted" consevatives out of prison. When conservatives politicians wanted to build more prisons, they probably never realized that it would be they who would be about to spend so much time in them.

    Oh, I rather doubt they'll be spending any significant amount of time in prison. And once released, they'll probably star in their very own comic book, rather like G. Gordon Liddy.

    I would prefer to call me a socialist, socialdemocrat, social liberal or something instead of liberal. I am however of the opinion that conservatism is just one step away from totalitarian fascism and thus it and its followers scares me. I reckon most dont agree with me there though.

    That's not fair, Chandos...I'm reasonably certain that the Liberal / Conservative demographics of the prison population are fairly representative of society.


    That is...until Clinton pardoned all of his jailbird cronies ;)

    @LNT...I'm perfectly willing to let you compromise toward anything I believe in.

    I would say there are significantly more liberals than conservatives in prison. Why else would the dems be pushing for felons to have the right to vote?

    Me, I'm fairly liberal for my family -- almost as liberal as John McCain. (Hey, my father voted for Barry Goldwater).

    There is a slightly better chart for gauging one's political disposition. Instead of just a line -- going left and right -- it's a graph with four quadrants. This accounts nicely for folks who are liberal on social issues but conservative on fiscal issues (e.g. Libertarians)... and the opposite, which would be Nazis, I suppose. I guess Libertarians have that going for them: they're the polar opposite of Nazis. :)

    heh. Despite being more or less liberal (that's hippie incapable of compromise for LNT), I wouldn't mind seeing McCain being large and in charge--and I'm not one of the silly types who think McCain's anything but a true blue (er...red?) conservative.

    If a politician convinces me he actually gives a damn about the country I'll forgive a lot.
