[IMG] I'm allergic to Wasp and Bee stings, so bees I generally avoid, wasps are harder to avoid, especially when they get into a drunk frenzy

I absolutely adore Spiders, so I keep them or put them outside or somewhere safer if I can.

Other bugs don't bother me. Unless it's Summer and you feel something large land on you but have no idea what it is. I still have no idea what it was, but it was a nice shade of green when it flew off again.

My mother reckons it's some type of stag beetle.

    Stag Beetles rock btw.

They become a smudge on the sports page when I see them.

Wasps die, inside or out. They have nasty tempers. Haven't been bothered by ants inside. Don't have roaches. Spider webs inside have to go but I hate killing a spider. Spiders are beneficial. Most other flying, crawling insects inside die. Outside it's mostly live and let live unless the insect is harmful to the plant life.

I've been trying to think and I can't remember a single occasion in my whole life when I have killed either a wasp or a bee.

In the house, I kill wasps and release bees.

Outside I ignore both. When there are too many wasps (like on some campsites) I make a Waspcatcher, cutting a lemonade-bottle in two, putting some beer or syrup and rum in the bottom part and putting the upper half on top of it up-side-down.

If the insect is stupid enough to invade my house then I kill it on sight.

Outside of my house I generally leave them alone unless they are starting a hive on my property in which case I whip out the can of industrial strength bug spray and let them have it.

Okay SHell, I'll tell you exactly what we did to a wasp that DARED invade my room at school. Together with my sadistic Bavarian buddy, I sprayed it with a can of deodorant, lit it on fire, watched it burn, and then cut it in half.

Well, he did. I just watched, and loudly observed how gross it was, and yelled at him for cutting it in two with my good fountain pen.

There was wasp guts on the nib....

Still, I hate wasps, so it deserved it imho.

Who, me? Naaaaaaaaaaah. Mwhahahahahahahahaha.

Oh, if I catch a wasp and if I'm feeling especially sadistic, I rip off it's wings and drop it with my two Emperor scorpions and watch the fun. Two scorpions against a wasp. The wasp usually ends up being stung at least a good dozen times.

Scream and run away like a nancy boy, of course. Then I would try to get it to fly outside.

Well, I answered the questions assuming you meant inside the house. I couldn't possibly be bothered trying to chase down any type of insect while outside. But as soon as they get into the house they are killed on sight. Sure, maybe they won't bother you and will fly away after a while, but they also might sting you, so no thanks.

That might be a slight off topic, but like every year, when hot weather comes back, we face (and kill) an unbelievable number of ants. I've installed Raid Exterminator traps, but I'm still killing an awful lot. Anyone got tips to get rid of that infestation?

    To paraphrase Eddie Izzard...

"And then we have bees and wasps...
Bees make honey! This is an amazing thing! It's on your morning breakfesty toasty thing... I mean, do earwigs make chutney? Do spiders make gravy?... Wasps sting you as much as they want and then go back to their hive and make-NOTHING! Nothing at all! They just spend the rest of the summer smoking a load of dope, so you find that one wasp wandering across your carpet in the fall..."

Outside I leave well enough alone if they do. Inside I become Bwuanga, the great white insect hunter.
