POLL: Which language to learn?

Anyway... Japanese, unlike French, isnt that hard to learn - and lots of fun. Really, I would recommend it.

 

Really? I thought it is one of the hardest languages. It seems so strange

 

Really depends what you want it for. I would suggest Spanish as the universally more useful, due to the predominance in the America's.
You would probably be OK with English in Germany if you want simple business usage. (If you intend to be a high flying city slicker it may be the more useful language though)
If you want to do anything in France, you need to speak French.

 

It's as alien a language as it gets, I guess. But I think you will find that isnt a disadvantage. Japanese being so unfamiliar may have you highly attentive and open-minded during classes.

Though seeing that Germany and Turkey do heaps of trade and investments between them, you may actually be better served by German, tongue of the wicked.

 

Unfortunately, French is a dying language--English is taught very aggressively in France these days. Otherwise, there's the Canadian province of Quebec, which is not a capital of technology or industry.

If you're looking to make waves in big business, Spanish makes the most sense just because it's the most widely spoken of those 3 languages. For many people, like me, it's also the easiest to learn if you have a background in English (or in a Romance language such as Italian) as a first language.

 

Japanese is supposed to be the closest language to Turkish, so I cannot imagine it being too difficult for yourself to learn.

 

But its alphabet is very strange. Even if I can speak Japanese, I think I can't write. Sometimes latin alphabet is used but their original alphabet seems very strange to me. But maybe next year I will consider to learn it

 

Well most Japanese can read and write rōmaji but I am not sure how widely used this system is.

I guess German would be good. Great opportunities and good looking women

 

Japanese is a mongrel language that uses multiple alphabets, including a modified version of Chinese characters referred to as "kanji," which can basically be learned only through brute-force memorization.

In many ways, it has just as many annoying oddities and idiosynchrasies as English does.
