I know I said Du Hast was my first taste but since Dendri mentioned it I now recall my first taste being Stripped when the ABC showed the clip for that on Rage. But I've only heard it once so I guess I forgot it pretty easily. And I loved the clip I saw for Sonne - a drug-related interpretation of Snow White with the band as the mining dwarves. Links 2,3,4 was a pretty cool clip too.

@ Foradasthar: Hey, Danish is a lovely language! It is just very hard to learn! You should really try and learn how to write in danish! We have a ton of stupid rules and exceptions, that really doesn't make any sence! Your perseption of danish might also be dependent on which accent you hear. We are the nation in the world with the biggest difference in accent compared to the size of the nation. I can really have a lot of trouble understanding people from Jutland or Bornholm, especially if they are from an older generation!

Speaking of Rammstein, I think they actually mannage to make german sound just a little bit less hard on the two last numbers on Reise Reise. (Their new album!)

Part of the attraction for me with Rammstein is that even though I can't understand a damn thing they're going on about most of the time ('Stripped' notwithstanding) is that German sounds like such a brutal language. I'd love to learn it one day.

Rammstein is great. My favourite songs are (in no particular order):
    Rammstein
    Mein Herz brennt
    Sonne
    Ich will
    Mutter
    Spieluhr
    Zwitter
    Nebel
    Engel
    Reise, Reise
    Dalai Lama
    Amerika
    Ohne Dich

I like those "hard" songs like 'Zwitter' as well as "softer" ones like 'Engel'.

Oh, and We all live in Amerika rules by the way. :)

What does he actually say in that song: mock them, I presume? :D

Good music, the ones with more melody and weight (Ich will, Moskau), and should go with Nightwish and Sonata Arctica.

I'm not a fan of metal and rock music, but the music these guys make I do like.

I have 3 CD's of Rammstein in my collection now, all of which I like.

I don't particularly like one song above the rest. But I sing Ich Will and Ohne Dich when I am in the shower :D

[IMG] Rammstein, a most definite Industrial band...

I listened to them for about a year or two (a few years back), I don't listen to them as much, but they still rock hard. And of all their songs, Du Reischt So Gut (You Smell so Good), Asche zu Asche (Ashes to Ashes), and Sonne (Sun) are my top 3 favorites.
Sonne is very easy to play on the guitar as well.

Eh, after seeing the anime music video for Engel, I could not bear to listen to the song ever again...

    (Anime porn, basically)

I had to revive this topic briefly - I just saw them live last night. They are INSANE! I have never seen so many flamethrowers in one place (and crossbows that shoot firebolts, and showers of sparks etc.) It's a miracle that they don;t burn down every venue they're in.

I could have lived without the keyboard player boiled alive for 'mein teil' but it was funny when he appeared from the cooking pot to play a few notes every now and again... (not when they were shooting flames at the pot of course).

As a critic said: 'they play the kind of music your neighbour would play at three a.m. if you lived in hell' I took that to be a recommendation but apparently it was meant in a negative way. Ah well, what do critics know?
