Actually, I saw something similiar to what Spellbound just described yesterday morning. Didn't see it clearly but I caught sight from the corner of my eye of a light falling from the sky and then seeming to 'explode' when it hit the ground. An awesome sight.

I saw the Hale-Bop comet when it came around in 96(I think). That was quite the sight to behold. I haven't seen much in the way of comets and meteors since I moved to the city, though.

Edit: Dammit, the Bananas are no longer dancing.

I saw Halley's Comet when he came around in 1986 (I think). Highly unspectacular it was.

Comets are only there to remind us that one day a massive meteor could hit Earth and kill us all.

Gah! To start writing my next story, I need to know 3 things that the other SPers here should know:
#1: Which of the D&D dragons have the innate ability to change form in to a Humanoid form?
#2: Which race would they/could they become (i.e. human, elf, half-elf...ect)?
#3: When in her humanoid form, could a dragon become pregnant from a real humanoid male?

#3 is the most important to the story, #1 could be answered if I ever find my Monster Manual, and #2 is just for better continuity of the storyline. :rolling:

#3 Yes. I think it was somewhere in the DragonLance series. I remember the legend of Huma the Dragon Slayer. He pregnates a silver dragon in humanoid form, only to find out later she aint no human. They even have a silver dragon son.

IIRC the dragon becomes succeptible (sp?) to human emotions only while in human form. The longer a dragon stays in human form, the greater the influence of these emotions on her.

I thought that Gold Dragons could also turn into humanoids. But this just might be a mistake since I haven't done and D&D for a couple years. Maybe what I'm thinking about is one of the dragon gods. Seems that I remember a story about a gold dragon that would turn into an old man and help questors that worshipped him.

Dragonlance has way too many specific quirks for you to be able to draw mainstream D&D conclusions from, so I'm not sure if that's how the official D&D canon looks at it.

Eew, eew and eew. There are massive amounts of freezing rain coming down right now, and it is making walking anywhere extremely dangerous.

I am not looking forward to tonight's class. Lots of freezing rain and a bridge makes for some interesting times in terms of getting around campus.
