What do you mean by dinner money? Is that what it costs to feed him for a week? $28 a week sounds pretty good to me. We spend way more than that on our 2 year old.

I'm passing my final driver's license tuesday, the very same freaking day of my b-day. I have to be there at 9AM. Good thing I have just made a huge stash of SoBe.

What a slow slow slow day on the Boards it has been today. At least I won free coffee for a month in the office lucky draw today. I'd rather win the lottery, but this will do.

What fickle waether we've been having. Yesturday was the nicest day we've seen in months. Wake up this morning to gailforce winds and buckets of rain. Then this afternoon, it fines up again - even better than yesturday! Stupid spring.

Had the usual 3 hours of meetings in Church, visited my Grandmother in the Home then went to my Aunt's place for THanksgiving. So much for a Day of Rest...

And I'll love mine even more tuesday since I'll have 15 points instead of 4. One ticket and kiss the license goodbye...

Well, that being said, time for a SoBe. If anyone needs me, I'll be in the fridge drinking my life away. (That sounds so pessimist, but who cares)

He's at school now. 5 days a week, 1 dinner per day costs £10... so each dinner is £2

What time does he finish school that he is still there at dinner time? Or is he boarding? In which case, who pays for breakfast and lunch?

Don't get me started on those... in Avogadro's Number, there are 6.02 X10^23 particles with significant figures. Of course, they cut out only about 30 septillion particles, which is significant, don't you think?

As Shell hasn't replied and is offline, I'll explain on her behalf.

Over here in Britain (I assume that Ireland is no different in this regard), we will quite commonly refer to the mid-day meal as lunch, but describe the money used to pay for it at school as 'dinner money'. Dinner, as in the meal itself, can apply to either lunch or tea (the word for the evening meal). Confusing, eh?

Note: naming conventions change depending on where on the island you are, but that is the gist of the thing.

[IMG] It's pretty much the same around here. I've heard the word "dinner" used to describe the main meal of the day, regardless of when it took place.

    I'm getting hungry now... :yum:
