@Cúchulainn: I guess if you notice your boyfriend being black not merely in the sense of knowing about all the ramifications, but as in you notice how un-racist you must be for hooking up with a person of that other race, then that fact proves you actually to be one. "Oh my dear, you're black but I still love you!   "

Valve's Steam is one of the worst idiocies I've ever come across.

It doesn't like my ISP's firewall, which isn't too surprising (most things don't). First thing it tries to do after install is to connect to the Steam server, and it spends the next lifetime trying to do so. No problem I think, there must be a solution. Sure enough there is one on Valve's website. And Valve's solution is a wonderful one indeed: just configure Steam! No problem!

Oh yeah, one tiny detail that the makers of Steam seem to have overlooked: you cannot configure Steam IF YOU'RE NOT CONNECTED FIRST.

I do wonder sometimes just how stupid these people are.

Now if Half-Life 2 was a game I was desperate to play I would really be pissed off. As things stand I will only shake my head and move on. Hearing about Steam horror stories made me want to make sure the game worked on my system before buying it. As things are I am not buying a Valve game ever again - very little point in paying money for something that will not work.

I'm not naive enough to think that game companies care much for their customers, but this is ridiculous.

sorry Dfly I scoffed it all. Not that it was very impressive. The shape was more reminiscent of a flower than a circle, and it was overcooked

Flix, its a quote from Complete Works of William Shakespeare... they're doing Macbeth in perfect scottish accents, and Macbeth comes out and says:
Stay, ye imperfect speaker! Mactell me macmore!

And she speaks, and then he says: Macwhat macneed macI macfear of macduff?

Its humorous to hear (not as funny as typed).
