I never got into the habit of readin web comics. I think I'm missing out on something.

In other news, I am re-reading to many books. I need more books or I'm going to know some of them off by heart.

I had to stop reading a few of my web comics for 2 reasons: 1) not updating since August 2006 and 2) script is taking a bad turn.

I pulled a Guy Thing today and sniffed a sweatshirt I dug out of the hamper.

It's drizzly and misty - I didn't know about it having gone to work in the sunshine and being inside in the intervening hours. But then again, it would explain why my knees were aching so much near the end of my shift. :heh:

Yep. You should at least give The Order of the Stick a go.

    Here's the first.

Had a full day .xml seminar on monday and tuesday. Tuesday afternoon was mind numbing - a theory block, in the afternoon and after dinner. Bad idea. The consultant in the end asked in the end for a 'brutally honest feedback'. I was being diplomatic, saying that, considering the nature of the subject, the afternoon being boring probably was inevitable. A colleague was blunter and flatly stated: "It sucked. For a number of reasons ..."

Nice guy, but he was visibly shaken after that. That said, and we told him, the first one and a half days were pretty good. It know from my own experience that it is hard to stand in front of a course. It's an evil experience to notice you lose grip on the class, and in the time you have in course you can't see why. To ask then is the right thing to do, after all 'you have a product to sell'.

Lesson: If you have a dry subject, allow people to learn the theory by getting there from something practical. Dtd's are cryptic anyway, so, in our case, go from a text to the .dtd and not vice versa. Not only will they learn it easier that way, you also solve part of the problem of entertaining them.

Concentrate on how silly they dress in there. Well, I don't know in Brisbane, but in Sydney the fashion of this season was quite ridiculous. Good looking girls, but the things they were wearing... :hahaerr:
