None of the money orders I sent have gotten to the bill collectors. Great. I get to spend all day tracking them down.

I can answer that one, flix - I remember from taking my wife to get bloodwork done for immigration medicals that the labs open something like 6am - I think it's so that they can start the tests (which often involves taking samples and dissolving them over a fairly long time) and still get those tests completed at a reasonable hour...

    Stefanina, belated happy birthday.
As for not answering the phone - it's a tempting thought.
At work, full day ahead, then hopefully on the road tomorrow morning. May or may not have computer access - I'll check in when I get back if I don't.
    Babble on, all!

I have not been here for ages.

Playing Ghost Recon, Lego Star Wars and Oblivion on Xbox 360 in your grandparent's basement for nearly three weeks makes you forget a certain thing called 'time'.
And I'm still supposed to have time to show Star Wars IV-VI to my hippie lady comrade, send angry letters to some people, do Harry Potter fan stuff and read all the remaining fantasy books from Finnish libraries!

    Being nerd is HARD!

Tried a different energy drink today. Was called Relentless, not all that much different to most others, although it does come in a 50 cl can rather than the 33 cl that is standard here. For this reason, I approve.

I called the local paper where my folks live and told them to correct Mom's obit about the number of grandkids (8, not 10) and great grandkids (0, not 4) she has. My retarded sister...

Worse news: no more fudge! :wail: I can't make fudge worth a cr@p!

@Stefania - whups; sorry for making belated birthday wishes for ya!

@revmaf - go, have fun; don't worry about us - we'll just struggle along, eagerly awaiting your return! :)

@k - no more fudge? :jawdrop: I remember trying some one time visiting (when you could wrestle it away from your hubby - he must be heartbroken!) I miss her even more now because of that...

@Decados - "RELENTLESS"?!? They're really starting to scrape the bottom of the barrel for product names nowadays, aren't they? :shake:

ANYWAY, enough 'shoutouts' and on to New Business:

Got a lift to work from my dad today, and we got to the intersection just outside my store. Pulled into the turn lane behind a car that was a car-length or two back from the stop line. The light's red, so we don't think anything of it apart from my mild comment of trifling annoyance at 'wasted space' by my pater. So be it.

Then the light changes and our side gets an 'advance arrow' - we can turn left before anyone else can go. Except the other driver doesn't; after maybe ten seconds, she begins to creep up to the stop line, by the time she gets there, the arrow's gone and the lights are fully green for our direction of traffic. Fortunately there's no one across the intersection, so we could still turn left...if the slowcoach ahead of us ever gets out of first gear. My father is now getting annoyed and expressing himself commeasurately.

So now the other driver finally pulls into the intersection...at about five km/h. Even I - a passenger - am starting to express my displeasure with this 'moving obstacle to the efficient flow of traffic'...

So we follow her (slowly) down the next street, coming up to the actual entrance to my store's parking lot, and sure enough, she pulls into the 'turn lane' feeder; as she creeps across the other lane and turns, her turn indicator belatedly starts up.

Then she proceeds to slow down, and obviously start to hunt hawkishly for a parking space...at maybe 2km/h. :nolike:

I shake my head and am about to suggest I get out now and let my father turn around and get away from this dangerous hazard, instead of him dropping me at the door, when we both notice something:

the other driver finds a spot, signals that she's going to turn into it, and comes to a complete stop. (that's not the surprising thing)

THEN SHE REACHES UP AND ADJUSTS HER REAR-VIEW MIRROR (?!?)

:jawdrop: what? why? where did she think she's going - the vacant parking space is AHEAD OF HER (and she drove ('crept' is more like it) her car forwards into the spot. Despite her acting like she wanted to cause other people to have collisions, she gets (redundantly) safety-conscious NOW, when her trip is AT AN END?!?!?!?!?

It's enough to make one take some extra chlorine over to the shallow end of the gene pool! ;)

One of the acid-sinks basically exploded at work tonight... No one got hurt, but it happened during the middle of my break, so by the time I got back, the evacuation was over...so no extended break for me. :nolike: :(

I always miss the cool stuff... :bad: :rolling:

Crappy day. Power cuts out every few hours, causing air-con to turn off too. Hot Daie is unhappy Daie. Bored Unhappy Daie becomes Annoyed Daie. Annoyed Daie, when mixed with more boredom becomes Apathetic Daie.

Having installed IWD on my compy, I then lost interest at the Character gen screen and promptly uninstalled it.

Meh, I'm gonna go watch some films, I reckon, or stare blankly at the wall, at least.
