    Kuemper, good bread knife, SHARP bread knife, and don't cut it for at least an hour after it gets out of the oven. (That last is the really hard part. . .)

    It seems that the way to guarantee a downpour is to help a friend move. By the time the rain started pounding, it was too late to turn back. of course, she's moving to a back side apartment with no handy parking, so we had to walk the boxes around the building. After the first trip, I took off my glasses because they were funneling the water right into my eyes. Needless to say, we were both soaked to the bone.

    In Health News: It's almost over; the congestion's gone, both from sinuses and lungs, and my throat is starting to feel better (but my voice sounds a little scratchy).

    Two blippin' weeks; I'm getting feeble as I get older :nolike:

    In Industry News: I had a regular 'deli' shift tonight, instead of my usual chicken cook. The guy on chicken was putting in his last few shifts before leaving for an apprenticeship, but apparently he's decided he didn't need his severance pay, since he just didn't bother showing up tonight. :shame:

    So even though I had another deli worker with me for half the shift, we were both falling behind in our regular work since we had to cover his duties, too. And after my co-worker left, I steadily fell further behind.

    I ended up finishing a half-hour after my shift was over, cutting a few corners with less-essential stuff, and never got a chance to pick up some milk for the wife before everything shut down (I work in a grocery store, fer crissake! :grr: )

    Add to which, I had the usual half-hour trudge home after six hours on my arthritic legs, and I'm tired and grumpy...

    In Entertainment News, I'm no going to fire up some FPS or the like and vicariously KILL things until I'm in a better mood. :lol:

    And for all of us here at Jaded Empath News Service, Happy Canada Day a little early! :D
