Had an awesome couple of hours last night at work on one of my rare nights off, got the chance to actually be part of the audience for our local Musical Comedy Company's production of "Smokey Joe's Cafe - the songs of Lieber and Stoller", did a spine-tingling, goose-bumping rendition of Love Potion #9, kinda slow smokey/sultry sound to it and one of the guys did a great performance of Rose In Spanish Harlem (I think that's what it's called) followed immediately by an absolutely heartbreaking, tear-to-your-eye performance of I Have Nothing by another man. I swear it looked like the second man was gonna belt the first for stealing his woman!

Was accompanied by an absolutely lovely young lady mind you, added to the enjoyment

I went to the Pirate Bar last night. Arrr!

 

Did you tried dismantling the phone and baking the circuit panel for an hour (30 minutes per side, at the lowest temperature possible)? I resurrected a Blackberry who the service department called "officially dead" with the oven trick. It's worth trying, at least.

Of course, water damage is unpredictible. It's possible the phone might really be dead. Nokias aren't the type of phones that die easily.

 

I dunno, DoTW. I took mine swimming in the sea and it worked fine afterwards.

Like I said, water damage is a bag of surprises. Either the phone will work fine like nothing ever happened, or it will work but with a couple of quirks, or it will work fine for a while then die, or it simply won't work at all.

I'm not surprised yours survived a swim in the sea, Daie. I've said it before but I've got a Nokia who survived being fully submerged in a 5 gallon bucket of paint for roughly 5 to 10 minutes. Except for being pretty messy, hard to clean, and keeping a faint paint smell, the phone soldiered on like nothing ever happened, and in fact still works today... though it's a pity I can't use it anymore, otherwise I would still be using it. F*** you, Rogers, for pulling the plug on TDMA.

My friend tried to hook me on WoW. And failed. Diablo II for me, thanks a lot.

 

I'm giving myself a well-deserved sit-down after moving my stuff out of my scummy flat and into my girlfriend's lovely, clean house. Goodbye annoying mating pigeons and dangerous electricals - you won't be missed.

 

Yeah, that's twice in two days I've had to stay on after the end of my shift.

Management? Here's an ultimatum:
I can do three things in my job -
a) cook,
b) wash/clean,
c) serve.

And I'm starting to get what seems to be arthritis pain in my WRIST, in addition to my leg joints...my mother's genetic legacy SUCKS.
