Urgh, thanks, Trell, just what I needed as I blink at the screen in the AM.

Re being called sir with the wrong body parts, wasn't that one of the minor interesting quirks of Star Trek TNG that all officers of both genders were "sir?" Or was that only an episode or two? Also see Samuel Delaney's (sp?) Stars In My Pocket Like Grains of Sand for a very interesting approach to gendered pronouns.

Ah, don't I sound erudite this morning? It was the best weather weekend in many months, highs in low to mid 70's, lows in high 40's to low 50's, low humidity, sunny, all following an inch or so of rain from the last of Humberto on Friday. Back to hotter weather this week but perhaps not back to the worst of it.

    Anybody but me watch Eureka?

EDIT: Oops. Forgot to say, thanks, Nakia, for keeping us up and running for a bit longer! Member of the week, yay!

Well, this is the last of the confusing news about my degree. I'm officially a Master now. :D Got an A and they said I was a brilliant student and my thesis was brilliant as well, as was also the final exam.

The feminine of "sir" as an address, not a title, is "madam". "Yes, madam!" should be used instead of "sir" for correctness, though I don't know if the marines would agree. ;)

Congrats, chev. Now you can go have some expensive coffee to celebrate.
They addressed that to an extent with Star Trek: Voyager. Sir was official, for any gender (especially since with new species, it's no longer just two to pick from). Anytime Janeway got called ma'am, she told people not to. :p

    Congratulations chev! :thumb:

I trust that there will much supping of ale in celebration of this momentous event... and that you'll be phoning up your tutor to use the ol' "when I left you I was but the learner... now I am the Master!" line. :tie: ;)

    Trellheim version 7.00:
Negative: I'm sick, bored, lonely and I've lost my hope about a certain important change in my life.

Positive: I'm still loved, good looking and rich.

Had a conversation today which brought up Monty Python's "The Life of Brian". Makes me realize I haven't seen a Monty Python movie or episode of "The Flying Circus" in several years.

    Yeouch!

The past two days have been really bad. I've had a hard time trying to eat, which is making me cranky.
This week can't be over soon enough.
We did get some rain today though, which is good.

Congrats Chevalier! Wear your robe of mastery and hood of wisdom with care, and flourish that scroll in every doubting face.

To be hot again tomorrow. Ah, well.

The Sci Fi Channel airs a lot of crappy shows, but I sure do love AniMonday.

Hehe... I got a call from the moronic bureaucrats today - they want to see me tomorrow, along with my art teachers to "get feedback on how I'm doing" (read: they want to expel me so bad). Well, sorry to disappoint you, bureaucrats... but I'm way ahead of schedule with my end-of-semester project, and both teachers appreciate the new dimension I bring to the department. Troubles with authority?

Let me tap into my creative muse, let me express myself, let me push the envelope and most of all, let me do it on my own and I'll never be a problem again.

Payback's a bitch, bureaucrats..
