The first thing I did was to tinker with mine. A BBQ is done without gas, no debate possible. wood, coals, charcoal al fine.

As I said, I raised the grill to avoid mistake number 1, namely things too close to the fire. The second mistake is temperature mismanagement. BBQ is slow food, so avoid high temps. make sure a part of your BBQ has a spot with low temps for the above mentioned ribs.

People who spray flammable fluids on a burning BBQ to heat things up when the BBQ appears to be slow, must be shot without trial to set an example for the rest of the mostly male idiots who underestimate fire.

I noticed that a RPG is not mentioned in the news. Odd. Isometric, plays like Temple of elemental Evil. released at the end of June...

I've just finished watching the first season of The 100. I honestly can't believe this crap was renewed for a second season.

Inevitably, I must ask why you then watched the first season?

I always watch a full season. Some series start slow but they pick up as they run. This one just stayed boring and predictable all the way through to the end. Not to mention loaded with unnecessary romance plots and love triangles.

While skimming through some random stuff on SP, I stumbled upon the original idea for the Neverwinter Nights OC. I can't help but think that, had they not made so many major changes, the game wouldn't have been the incredibly long yawn-fest that it was.

Sounds like they were trying to make a Call of Cthulhu game, but replaced maddening aliens with some boring lizards. Still, it seems far more interesting than the final product ended up being.

Interesting. Unfortunately the actual OC just became a series of fetch quests to get four of the *quest subject du jour*. Bioware likes to make you get four of this and four of that to complete the quest. Maybe they like the dutch game "kwartet", in which you need to get four cards of the same type to win. The whole of DA:O was build like that too.

I suppose it's better than Bethesda's questing system, in which you either need to get X amount of Y, or you need to bring X to person A and then go back again. And then bring Y to person B who's on the opposite side of the worldmap.

Yeh, it's a simple recipe: You've got your FedEx quests, you've got your kill quests, and you've got your gather quests.

Those are probably the three worst offenders in generic questing. There's nothing inherently wrong with them as long as you keep them interesting and to a minimum.

Personally, I hate the MMO classic: Run to the other side of the map and bring me back 20 skeleton bones. Of course, skeletons aren't actually made of bones. No, they just happen to drop one every once in a while.

That's why I don't play MMOs. Also because I firmly believe that the online world is full of trolls and grievers.

    People

Sadly, modern day RPGs are mostly going in that direction. I'm glad Torment and Eternity are putting some actual role playing back into role playing games.

I like to play this RPG called "Life" My character is now at level 44 and I'm a short bard-warrior amazonian queen with a high charisma :p.

Life has some kickass HD graphics, but I don't care much for the players. Everyone takes things way too seriously.

Yeah. They tend to get upset when you pick their pockets. Or randomly kill innocent bystanders (well, except for the NRA and their GOP cronies; from what I gather, they appear to be encouraging that sort of behavior).

Wait, is that too serious for Random Babbling?

I have high charisma, too! But then I've been told that low wisdom may be interfering with an accurate self-assessment.

Also the story sucks. It doesn't seem to go anywhere. Well, at least plot holes only seem to happen when you get involved in politics or management.

At least the MMO players are well prepared for dull jobs with their endless grinding.

And I don't get the *bling* sound effect when I level up. Nor do I seem to get new skillpoints. Or better stats. On the up side, at least my stats are not deteriorating (much) yet.

You also randomly gain Flaws over the course of the game, but most of the time you don't get bonus Feats in return. It's one of those bugs that's been around forever and, since the devs are no longer around, there's no real hope of getting it fixed. And don't even get me started on the issues with the friends list.
